I awarded a first place vote with 10 points, 2nd with 9, and so on down the line. In the event of a tie an average of the two scores was awarded (ie. tie for 2nd results in an 8.5 for both). Fifteen teams participated this week.

Alert... Alert... we have a changing of the guard!!! The Tonga Ikale Tahi have overtaken the 'Nites for #1 spot in the coaches poll this week with the Heat hot on the trail. Otherwise, much of the same this week out of the top 10, including the revolving door at the #10 spot with the Rawle Tech Titans sneaking in this week after a surprising upset from IC over the Gods.

Week 5 Top 10
1. Tonga Ikale Tahi 120 (3)
2. Banzai Pipeline 'Nites 117 (7)
3. Brisbane Heat 113 (1)
4. Mean Machine 101 (1)
5. Grinnell Pioneers 90.5 (1)
6. West Scranton Invaders 77 (2)
7. Brantford Mustangs 74
8. Vanuatu Kava Sharks 65.5
9. Fiji Stingers 38
10. Rawle Tech Titans 9

Others Receiving Votes:
East Coast Tide 7, Brisbane Gods 7, IC Incinerators 4, New England Burning Pride 2

Dropped From The Top 10
Brisbane Gods

() denotes first places votes

Fun Facts: Banzai was the only team out of the top 8 to not appear in all 15 top 10 submissions this week... 9th ranked Fiji appear in 13 of the 15 ballots... really shows how much that 10th spot is up for grabs... new high of 15 submissions this week!!!

ETA: There was an extra submission that had been made before I submitted... so the poll now reflects those

Wow-beat East Coast by 31 and Canberra by 24 and drop 8 points to number 6. You guys are tough. But then again, someone didn't put Banzai in their top 10?!?!?! How they are not #1 until they lose is crazy. To be the man,...

Eeks . . . I'm honored, but I think I had Tonga no higher than 6th or 7th.

How in the hell does anyone not vote Banzai #1, let alone leave them out of the top ten entirely?

Crazy.

Some people took those preseason losses a wee bit too seriously I think.

Shhhh!

Honestly I dont have a problem not being ranked even in the top 5. That is what makes these polls fun and there are some tough teams. I do however think it is doing the poll injustice if everyone isnt at least trying to take them seriously. I realize trying to leave homerism out of it is tough. The NITES have only lost 2 games since season 1, so to not be ranked in the top 10 at this point in the season is mind boggling to me. Everyone has their opinions though. This is not a numbers poll, which is a good comparison to McGruffs numbers poll.

In the end, the games will all be played. At least it gives us something to discuss.

I heard that #1 spot is cursed McGruff!

Good luck to all this week........Fiji can take the day off!

Fiji can take the next week off, we're looking too much foward to our matchup. WS is loving the dark horse ranking as well.

Agree, Preseason games mean nothing, only the 4 games in the post season.

With the Pro-Regional movement, I think people are just wondering when you guys are going to make up your mind. Oceania or USA, not both!

No one likes traveling all the way to Scranton (Other side of the WORLD) to play you guys, and I think thats accounted for in the rating.

Pretty sure you could find the same deal round trip.

or

you can fly half that price on our team plane. Season ticket sales were'nt what we thought they'd be.

I hardly think its the price we're worried about More like the 23:55 hour transit time. We literally have to jog off the field week 3, straight to the airplane in full gear, and walk off the plane still wearing the same gear just in time for kickoff in scranton, then have to do the same thing again to get back.

Very annoying. You should be forced to play all your games away, as they are actually a logistical impossibility with the games schedule.

I've had you guys at #4 since week 1, second among all Alpha teams behind Tonga. I would have kept you there again this week, but I couldn't get my vote in on time. Mean Machine and Grinnell look very strong though, so there's no shame in falling behind them in the polls.

You guys have been in my top 5 since the very first Season 5 poll. In fact the same five teams have been in my top 5 since day one...
