None of my O-lineman have more than 35 agility and we have a dominant line. I see people talking about soft capping it. I am just not sure I think it is of any value to do so.

Please give some opinions.

It's very important, IMHO. Spd/Agi are the new Blk/Str for OL!

It is helpful, but more so if you pass, and especially so for RG/LOT.

Not entirely true...but definitely true for OT's.

There are very few strength based DE's since they do quite poor compared to speed whore DE's, meaning for OT's to stand a chance, they are better off getting speed and agility, since having 64562 strength does no good if you never touch the defender.

Well my LOT with 25 speed 33 agility just played against the top speed rushing DE in our league and no sacks. I guess I still do not see any reason to get agility or speed to soft cap. I think high 30s agility and low 30s speed should be good enough.

^ that's funny, I just checked the Katsuma Katanas and they haven't played any of the top 4 sack masters in your league. The team you just played has their top DE with FOUR sacks.

You really have no idea what some DE's are capable of.

yeah, I dunno, both of my OT's have soft capped agi, and both got totally destroyed in our last scrimmage.

agi is important, but you need speed to go with it.

If you want to see some great OT vs DE battles...check out Cary on offense. Kethikan has some great DE's that are #4 and #5 in sacks in the league. I'm just glad Cary was able to stop the bleeding in the first quarter. My guess is that Atari Sanders got destroyed in the running game which really killed his morale/energy for the rest of the game.

What is so special about the number 48. Players do not play in a void they play next to teammates and across from competitors. I think a tackles speed and agility need to be proportionate to the DE.

Speed 1/3
agility 1/2

I think this is enough.

I have played against a 80 speed 50 agility end with 25 strength and high tunnel vision. He beat us once but gut crushed in the running game.

The number 48 is when your attributes start costing more to upgrade.
Also, when you level up, you get more of a natural bonus.

Lastly, O-line do not need any tackling.
They aren't being tackled; they're trying to block.

for LOTs it's very important, my LOT have only given up about two sacks his entire career and when I look at those plays it's because he give up on the DE to pick up the blitzing LBs. I don't know about other positions but for LOT, blocking, agility, speed are super important plus the protect SA. Once you get those up, it's going to be hard on any RDE to get pass you.

48 is just the first step on the way to 60+. Wait till your guys face some real challenge - you know why by then.

b.t.w.: 25 strength for a DE is dumb. You don't see that happen too often. The better guys got like 50 strength, 90 speed, 60 agility (or 90 agility, 60 speed). Boosted by some SAs, 35 agility OTs get smoked.

czman, I'm afraid they're right. You don't know what you're talking about. You haven't gone against a real speed rusher yet.

I have seen the light and will soft cap speed as soon as I can. Double capped strength and blocking will not save you, and agility without speed is not enough for a LOT.

A tackle = an offensive tackle or a player the position referred to as LOT or ROT

Maybe I have been lucky and never faced any well built defensive lineman. Good for me.

I just think using 48 as a stopping point is ridiculous. I understand that is where points cost 2:1 but that does not mean it is ideal for anything. It is an arbitrary stopping point based more on cost than on actual play. I think you can fall short of that and be OK.

If I am wrong it will take 3 boosts to fix it.
