September 27, 2008 (Montreal, PQ) - The Montreal Maniacs of once again marched to a relatively easy win in Canada A #7 action Friday night. The undefeated team, in search of a second title in three years, upended the Manitoba Wild Boars 42-14.
Quarterback Jim Mcman threw for 253 yards on only 15 attempts to lead the attack. Amazingly, a full half of his completed passes (5) were for touchdowns.
"The team didn't even really need me to rack up the points tonight," said Mcman, who saw some lighter playtime as Drake Cox returned to the fold after one year in exile.
Wide Receiver Kerry Wes was also a star. He caught two passes, both of them eerily identical 50 yard touchdowns as he blew by suprised Wild Boar defenders.
"Kerry Wes cannot be stopped," said Wes after the game. "He's untouchable. I think those CBs are out looking for their jock straps!"
On defense, the Maniacs were led by Shawn Briggs who set a personal record with three sacks in a single game. The outside linebacker now has five on the season.
"Where was their line?" Asked the linebacker, who is in his first year with Montreal. "Pathetic."
Crazy Charlie added an interception and the Maniacs defensive line held the Boars to only 25 yards rushing. A number eclipsed by all three Maniacs RBs who combined for 259 yards on the ground in the route.

(Seriously though, good game Manitoba. Just trying to spice things up around here!)
