What's up, fellow SEAsian AA#1! Team Members! I'm sure most of you have now seen Bort's poll about a possible restructuring of the leagues. Currently the poll stands at...

The way this is heading, we could lose SeAssia as we know it. I'm not ready to start the riots yet, but I think we should let Bort and co. know that there are a lot of people who do not want the awesomeness known as SeAsia. If you want your team to stay in this league, add it to the list.

Bort hasn't made his decision on what he's doing yet. It'll be closer to the end of the season before he decides most likely.

Yeah, this would be a bummer. I have been around now long enough to start building some relationships. Tough to have those severed by breaking up the leagues as they are. On the flip side, it would be nice to have more balanced teams in each conference.

Agree to all of it. Love the friendly rivalries we've built and would hate to lose that but watching 215-0 ballgames gets a bit old as well. Kinda discouraging for those mid, bottom tier teams to know they have absolutely ZERO shot at competing for a playoff spot until at least a full season has passed.

Restructuring is not a long term solution. If he completely resturctures the leagues it will be back to the way it is now in a couple seasons. As a lower level team, Tibet would likely be relegated right back to where I started from. That would be BS from a personal standpoint. But looking at it from a broader view, there are a lot of rivalries that have grown throughout all of the leagues. It would be a shame to destroy that. I am definitely not in favor of restructuring at all. Let the promotion/relegation system do it's job.

The promotion/relegation doesn't work fast enough though.

I am not that good with computer scripting or anything along those lines, but I had a idea.

Why can't Bort use a script to evaluate each league at the end of each season (this can be done within each conference to maintain the conferences as is without a realignment).

The script would identify the average level per team and reorganize the teams based on this. There could also be an additional script that would take chemistry and depth in account to determine which teams would be able to compete within a league, and if the targeted team can't compete then it would also determine which league would best house the team.

Like I said, I don't know too much about scripting.....but its my 2 cents.

Restructuring won't help that. If he wants to bump up the promotion relegation count, that's fine with me. But I don't think it's neccessary to restructure before implementing that.

The more I think about it, the more this makes sense to me.

I think a total restructure would really suck, we've developed to many rivalries and friendships through competition, that just starting fresh with a bunch of strangers in Canada AAA or South America AAA would suck. If he kept people in the same region, that would be more palatable, but I think no matter what people are going to gut and abandon their teams for whatever reason. There needs to be a mechanism in place so Bort doesn't have to recreate the wheel everytime the leagues get misaligned.

Increasing the frequency of relegation and promotion would do the trick.

Some people might even sell and gut their team BECAUSE the leagues were restructured. It could be counter-productive.

Well, I don't know about you all. But at this point, I don't enjoy playing in this league. There's no challenge what so ever. I look forward to maybe 4-5 games max a season. I'd rather have more competition then worrying about some rivalry. You make new rivals.

Yup. The only silver lining is that with the right management, a gutted team can turn things around in one season. The 215-0 scores are a bit much though.

Exactly. When we joined in Season 3, we got smacked around like any new team. But with dedicated management and agents you can turn things around. We closed the gap in Season 4, and hope to improve upon that in Season 5. I'm not saying it's easy, it certainly is not - but you can do it if you stay focused and determined.

I think this league would have been a LOT better if we didn't lose teams like Hiroshima, Davao, Xi'an, and Jackhammers. If those teams would have stayed and then you add up and comers like SBI, Cambodia, and some of the new teams... we'd have a very competitive league.

But yeah, no one likes 255-0 blowouts.

well i know when i joined the horde in season 2 it was in shambles
but syrk08 and zhrakkan have done a great job in recruiting and hiring the right coordinators and look at where the team stands now just a little over 2 seasons later so it is something that can be corrected with dedicated owners/GM's who are willing to take the time and also agents who arent just looking for a big contract and winning right away(which is the hardest thing to convince people of), but s fool said it can be done

but i agree with the fact that restructuring is also not the answer, not because of rivalries and such, even though those are nice, but because there are those teams out there that will most likely give up and gut their teams when they are playing against equal/close to equal competition and cant win and get frustrated

gutting is something that needs a better solution than restructuring leagues/conferences or that will have to end up being the solution every couple of seasons

Honestly...there is going to be no real solution for a gutted team.
In a game like this, there is no reason NOT to gut a team....its the new owners way of taking control and starting over...

I dont think any way will be put in effect that keeps people from gutting a team that does NOT hurt the real owners that want to make significant changes to a team...for instance, if I decided my defense was good, but I needed to rebuild my offense, they probably would put in rules to limit the number of people that can be traded/sold/cut
I think that is a bad idea.
