What I'm calculating below are rankings of offensive and defensive efficiency. This isn't quite the same as ranking by points scored. For instance, the Phantoms have scored more points than the Bacon, but they rank six spots behind them in offensive efficiency at this point of the season.

Offense
1 - Prince Edward Island Sharks
2 - Edmonton Moose
3 - Concordia Tornados
4 - Prince George Bulls
5 - Moose Jaw Blazers
6 - Yukon City Grizzlies
7 - Sherbrook Colonels
8 - Victoria Crush
9 - Lumberjack City Yaks
10 - Alberta Express
11 - Aspermont Roughnecks
12 - Bronx City Pulp Fiction
13 - Gravenhurst Ghost Ridahz
14 - Paradise Cheeseburgers
15 - Thunder Bay Bloodhounds
16 - Montreal Rush
17 - Canadian Bacon
18 - Hill City Heat
19 - Saskatoon Spitfires
20 - AU Tigers
21 - West Coast Trojans
22 - Fort Myers Mustangs
23 - Willow Creek Phantoms
24 - Toronto Terror
25 - Nova Scotia Curlers
26 - New Jersey Hood
27 - Halifax Fire
28 - Ontario Thundercats
29 - Chilliwack Thrashers
30 - Vancouver Valiants
31 - Toronto OutstandingPoker.com's
32 - District Challangers

Defense
1 - Edmonton Moose
2 - Moose Jaw Blazers
3 - Concordia Tornados
4 - Saskatoon Spitfires
5 - Thunder Bay Bloodhounds
6 - Victoria Crush
7 - Bronx City Pulp Fiction
8 - Prince George Bulls
9 - Prince Edward Island Sharks
10 - Sherbrook Colonels
11 - Willow Creek Phantoms
12 - AU Tigers
13 - Alberta Express
14 - Yukon City Grizzlies
15 - New Jersey Hood
16 - Lumberjack City Yaks
17 - West Coast Trojans
18 - Paradise Cheeseburgers
19 - Gravenhurst Ghost Ridahz
20 - Aspermont Roughnecks
21 - Canadian Bacon
22 - Hill City Heat
23 - Montreal Rush
24 - Toronto Terror
25 - Chilliwack Thrashers
26 - Nova Scotia Curlers
27 - Halifax Fire
28 - Toronto OutstandingPoker.com's
29 - Fort Myers Mustangs
30 - Ontario Thundercats
31 - Vancouver Valiants
32 - District Challangers

I guess if you added the rankings, that constitutes a power rating of sorts.

1(3) - Edmonton Moose
2(6) - Concordia Tornados
3(7) - Moose Jaw Blazers
4(10) - Prince Edward Island Sharks
5(12) - Prince George Bulls
6(14) - Victoria Crush
7(17) - Sherbrook Colonels
8(19) - Bronx City Pulp Fiction
9(20) - Yukon City Grizzlies
9(20) - Thunder Bay Bloodhounds
11(23) - Alberta Express
11(23) - Saskatoon Spitfires
13(25) - Lumberjack City Yaks
14(31) - Aspermont Roughnecks
15(32) - Gravenhurst Ghost Ridahz
15(32) - Paradise Cheeseburgers
15(32) - AU Tigers
18(34) - Willow Creek Phantoms
19(38) - Canadian Bacon
19(38) - West Coast Trojans
21(39) - Montreal Rush
22(40) - Hill City Heat
23(41) - New Jersey Hood
24(48) - Toronto Terror
25(51) - Fort Myers Mustangs
25(51) - Nova Scotia Curlers
27(54) - Halifax Fire
27(54) - Chilliwack Thrashers
29(58) - Ontario Thundercats
30(59) - Toronto OutstandingPoker.com's
31(61) - Vancouver Valiants
32(64) - District Challangers

Note that this rating is highly inaccurate this early in the season given the wide disparity in quality of opponents, but if updated should approximate pretty well by late season.

Interesting statistical analysis.

I like it.

Plus da Bulls are #5 overall.

I like that too.

I didn't see the Hood at the top of this list. Were they on there?

Just wondering what the formula you used for this list is. I can't seem to figure out the math for what you are using for "efficiency" if you aren't using points scored / given up.

Interesting none the less.

Should somehow add in the overall rating of an opponent. It wouldn't be perfect, but it would help with teams who have played gutted teams

This is not GLB ratings but player levels. That may help you with you answer swoosh22.

It is easier to read if you paste into a spreadsheet but the first number is the average level of the players on the team. The series of positions after is the average starters and the last series of numbers is the average of all players (starters/backups) for that position.

The rating isn't subjective - it is based upon the games already played, and I did indicate above these early ratings will be plenty inaccurate due to strength of schedule. I fully expect familiar powerhouses like the Bacon, Hood, Yaks, Phantoms and Cheeseburgers to gain ground once they hit easier portions of their schedule.

(After all, if the Terror can gain 16 spots just by playing the Challangers, think what that will do for some of those really good teams.)

My question still hasn't been answered. Cuz just looking at it quickly it appears to only be points scored / points against that are making the offensive / defensive rankings.

Its points scored per offensive play and points allowed per defensive play. That's efficiency, not quantity though they are obviously related.

Ahh, ok. That makes more sense then.

It's all good brother. I really enjoy when people do these kind of things so no bitching. Just like to point things out. Keep up the good work.

I always liked Scoreability and Bendability for offenses and defenses respectively. It isn't points per play scored/allowed but points per yard scored/allowed. It is one of the best indicators of top teams and pretenders who are just getting lucky in the NFL.

Prince George Bulls
Rush Yards Allowed/Game: -8.8
PYA/G: 144.3
YA/G: 135.5
Points Allowed/Game: 7.8
BENDABILITY: 17.37 YDS/POINT

Prince Edward Island Sharks
RYA/G: 17.9
PYA/G: 214.3
YA/G: 232.2
PA/G: 14.8
BENDABILITY: 15.69 YDS/POINT

Edmonton Moose
RYA/G: 18
PYA/G: 162.8
YA/G: 180.8
PA/G: 11.8
BENDABILITY: 15.32 YDS/POINT

And so forth. What this means is that, for example, in the case of the Edmonton Moose opposing offenses have to, on average, drive 45.96 yards to get a field goal. If they want a touchdown with a PAT, they would need to drive 107.88 yards. You can realize the obscenity of these numbers (thank you mismatched GLB games) but I feel that it is a better indicator for efficiency than plays per point. That may be efficiency as far as time consumption is concerned, but it isn't really talking about true offensive efficiency. I don't have the time to crunch the numbers though I may make a spreadsheet for both the scoreability and the bendability in the future.
