with iggy gone, we dont even get the projectors or power rankings that we can use to bash each other
as a frequent forum poster who enjoys a good flame war, this makes me very sad. thus for your viewing pleasure, i'm gonna tell you guys a cubicle story that just recently unfolded.
when season 5 started, i noticed our RB moma had not put any points into speed for his last 3-5 boosts. i suggested he redo his equipment for it because every other team was getting faster, and he was not. his response was "release me from the team." now obviously, from a management perspective, that would be a waste of time and money invested into a player. even the raiders got a draft pick for moss
so i replaced him on our roster, put him on special teams, and told him i'd trade him, and in fact, suggested he could go find a team himself to go to, figuring that was the last of it.
then there were a few pathetic msgs on his part, apparently saying my players also sucked. i'm not sure what he was trying to gain by pissing me off, but regardless, this part of the story is mostly irrelevant and does not advance the story. basically, there were msgs back and forth about who sucked more. he got really boring so i blocked him.
now comes the good part! as already mentioned, i've removed him from our depth chart and even put him on the trade block (anyone can check). but i wake up and see a new msg! i will post it in its entirety:

I've been blacklisted by my team (cape town) and they wont release me. As such I am offering any and all information about them for your upcoming game.
Let me know if you need something about my team that can help you in your tactics.
now 2 things stand out here. first off, i've said in the past i dig badgerphil, based purely on his posts here. but as everyone can now see, he definitely deserves some praise for what he did.. a seriously stand-up move. its also not that unexpected -- i mean after all, did the jets think pennington was gonna take a vow of silence when they sent him to the dolphins? (although in this case, its more like pennington called buffalo/NE/miami to give them the jets playbook)
the second thing that amazes me is that he thinks he has something to offer. he really doesnt know anything that anyone who scouts us cant find out. "they run.. and then they also pass. so prepare for those." iggy's analysis of us in one of last years game-of-the-week is probably much more in-depth that anything he can relate. ironically, its the game's lack of options that prevents him from being more destructive. ideally (for him), he'd want to say "they always pitch left with their second RB from the i-formation." unfortunately, as any OC can attest to, the offensive AI doesnt allow anything close to that. no formation selection, no direction, no player selection *sigh*
thats where the story ends for now. its interesting because so far what i've done is remove a player i think sucks, and put him on the trade block after he asked to be released. while his actions speak for themselves. if i were the vindictive type, i would have (and still can) just keep him off the depth chart completely until his contract expires. it would make for an exciting 40 days for him. if this were real life, i'd say he could be a cancer in the team locker room. fortunately, the "team locker room" is just a private forum, and he can be blocked from that :]
that said, its a sim football game.. on a website.. with dots moving around.. the most amount of time i've spent on this recently was.. writing this post. so i'll just keep on trying to trade him, and update you guys if anything new develops!
whew that was a lot to type.
