GAME OF THE WEEK

MaRAWK!! o vs. Djibouti Trolls 22-20

MaRAWK!! o once again makes the game of the week, however this week they are on the winning side of things. The O played a great game today vs a good troll team and edged past them in a classic 12 round bout.
............................................................

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSE

Shaquille "The Diesel" O'Neal
Botswana QB
21/28, 404yds, 5 TD, 0 Int

Shaq put was a monster preformer in this game that promised to be a good one yet turned into a blowout. O'Neal landed pass after pass throwing for over 400 yards and 5 TD's without a single INT, thats POTW stuff right there!

DEFENSE
Travis Blackout
Botswana DE
6 Tkl, 1 Hry, 6 Sack

All that needs to be said here is 6 sacks! Against a good o-line with a legendary O-Line player, that is impressive!

Great work as usual LTD. I watched the game (per your instuctions) with out seeing the score. I don't think I'll do that again...very stressful.

I want to submit two other plays for plays of the week from our game:

1. With 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter, the game is 13-12 Trolls. MaRAWK!!o is moving down the field when disaster (or providence, depending on our point of view) strikes:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=161931&pbp_id=1788267

OH man! now with 12 minutes left MaRAWK!!o is down two scores in a defensive struggle.

2. With 6 minutes left and after getting a FG to pull it to 20-15, MaRAWK!!o takes a shot...and it works!!

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=161931&pbp_id=1788887

MaRAWK!!o pulls into the lead! Can they hold on for the final 6 minutes?

3. After trading 3 and outs, The Trolls get the ball back with 3:28 at their own 28.
After getting a first down and moving the ball out to their 45, momentum reverses course and MaRAWK!!o benefits from the final big play:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=161931&pbp_id=1789283
And it is a good thing he did, that looks like that play might have been going somewhere!

Yea!

I wanna give some props to the Iowa kicker. He hit 4 FGs from over 40 yards in a close game. That's some good kicking as far as I'm concerned.

While these are meaningful plays of the weeks and deserving of attention. My vision for play of the week is crazy plays. Uber Kick return TD's, INTS for TD's, Force fumbles for TD's, long passes or Runs, things of that nature.

Tripoli vs Iowa was a good game... I had a feeling it would come down to special teams and it did

I'm feeling much better about Iowa being a #3 right now than I did 2 days ago, I didn't think we'd proven that we belong there yet. We certainly helped our chances out for a home playoff spot immensely. We may not be #3 at season's end, probably #4 or #5, but for now we've made the argument that we belong where we're at now.

The thing with some of Iowa's upgrades from the offseason is that they came from teams who dominated their respective conferences despite having really tough competition, and were league leaders for their positions in that same tough competition. I knew the talent I brought on board would perform and put us over the top of games we couldn't win last season. Christopher is just another example of those upgrades.

Good info I hope you will continue doing this week in and week out.

Time for my reply.............

Cairo beats Darfur, both are gutted, and both stay the same. I don't put much thought into the movement of gutted teams. I don't see any reason for Cairo to move up after beating another gutted team.

Watchootoo crushes Microdizzle by the largest margin of victory of the week and FALLS 3 slots. They slammed a gutted team yet lost to a good team. Not very impressive. 2 of the teams that edged above them beat the Trolls who are a very good team. One of them are undefeated the other shares the same record and almost beat the 3rd ranked team. While E'ci being ahead of them could be debated, E'ci is undefeated so that puts them ahead of them.

UN dominates Dakar, both stay the same. UN deserves their spot, Dakar is a gutted team does it really matter?

Ethiopia is blown out by E'ci, both stay the same. E'ci has not beat anyone other then gutted teams, all the teams ahead of them have beat good teams. Ethipia a gutted team don't matter.

Iowa narrowly defeats Tripoli, Iowa stays the same, Tripoli moves up one Tripoli is good and will move up however at the moment them being 0-2 it would be hard to justify simply on record alone. Iowa could very well challenge for the 2nd spot but its a flip at the moment. Tough call

Minisink puts up 17 points despite being routed by Khodumodumo, Minisink stays the same, K moves up The Revenge is unbeaten and also beat the Trolls a good team. That deserves a bump up.

MaRAWK!o squeeks by Djibouti, the o's move up two, and Djibouti stays the same
Liberty City is demolished by the Brownies, Liberty City loses a spot, Brownies stay the same. All the teams behind the Trolls are pretty much the gutted teams. I don't see any reason to move them down based on this note alone. I don't see any reason to hump the brownies over the UN at the moment either. The swingers are 1 spot above trolls so same theory applies. The swingers have one a game though and thats why they stay above the trolls but i can see the trolls saying they are better, time should prove this.

I think a good way to look at the top 4-5 spots is like in NCAA Football, usually the top 3-4 teams have the number next to their name that indicates how many first place votes you have.

I think at this point in the season UN has the vast majority of the first place votes, followed by BBE and Iowa who would be fairly close to each other, but BBE still having a respectable edge over Iowa, and then the Revenge MIGHT pick up 1 or 2 points, but it's doubtful.

Say 16 teams = 16 votes..I'd say then

1. UN (10)
2. BBE (4)
3. Iowa (2)
4. Revenge
5. MaRAWK
etc etc on down to 16.
