Week 1 Recaps and Awards
Somalia Wasps 30- Ethiopian Starvin' Marvins 27 (OT)
In the biggest week one game and a game that gives the winner a nice win , edge in the standings and Tie break the Wasps surrived. In their first drive of the season the Wasps O with a new look scored a td. Then a few minutes later the Wasps picked off the Marvins and were ahead two scores. The Marvins got a huge break with 55 seconds left returning a int for a Td to give them life. Then a Wasps 3 and out led to a early 4th quarter TD for the Marvins With 5:54 left the Marvins got a huge 57.5 yard rushing td that looked to be the winner at the time. On the last play for the Wasps 4th and goal from the 3 41 seconds left. Charlie Kalkman found I got Hops for a 3rd Td to force overtime. The Wasps then had a huge drive making two key downs a 3rd and 9.5 with a 10 yard rush and 3rd and 5.5 . La Target kicked the game winning field goal.

Madagascar Outlaws at Tuscaloosa Bulls
What did you expect here really nothing else to say.
Player of the game - The Bulls running backs 22 rushing td’s 787 rushing yards way to go lol.
Scape goat award: The entire Outlaws Defense
Kalahari Night Riders 45 - Zimbabwe Bush Squirrel Rebellion 21
The Night Riders had 486 yards to go with a great balance. The only things you could say was their Rush D didn’t have their best game and they had 3 fumbles and lost two. Down two td’s with 7 minutes to go in the first was too hard for ZBSR to come back from.
Player of the game : Drew Seabass 24-35 3td’s no int’s showing why he was last year’s league mvp.
Scape goat : ZBSR Defense. While you held Seabass to 248 yards, 3 td’s and no int’s will not help. Giving up 138 yards on 14 carries (9.9 avg) to the starting Night Rider back will not win you guys games.
Sahara Death Stalkers 24 - Zimbabwe Beavers 87
A 21-0 First Quarter helped the Beavers , they jumped out early and quick . Up 42-24 at half they never looked back in a game where we didn’t think they’d have a problem they didn’t A 65.5 yard rushing TD right up th gut for the Beavers was the killer the lead to flood gates being open. Giving up to 24 to the Death Stalkers though isn’t championship football.
Player of the game Crosseyed Sharpshooter Zimbabwe QB . 16-32 331.5 yards 5 td’s and 1 int .
Scape Goat- The Beavers Pass D in a game where you know the Death Stalkers couldn’t run it you all 405 passing yards.
South African Bulls 13 - Mozambique Starvin Marvins 52
In a good start for the new team from AA the other Marvins played well they just kept scoring not really having that floodgate quarter but they got the job done. A 93 yard passing td with 43seconds left gave the Marvins the breathing room they needed

After that the Marvins shut the door in a good game for them.
Player of the game: Mozambique Running back Mykel d'Gadget 166.5 yards on 22 carries 3 td’s and 8 broken tackles.
Scape goat award: The entire Bulls O 41.5 yards on 30 rushes and 4.8 yards per pass will not beat teams in this league.
Jupiter Snipers 17 - Egypt Empire 44

The Snipers RunD was horrible all day and they will need to correct it to win .

Scape Goat: Sinpers Run D 438.5 yards allowed on 69 carries is poor run D.
Fort Wayne Generals 22 - Uganda SilverBacks 13
This was one of the better games this week in Lion.
Fort Wayne had a 13-0 half time lead including a 62.5 yard bomb 13 seconds into the game

The Silver Backs countered with two 3rd quarter td’s of their own including a 57 yard bomb with 14:12 left in the quarter. A rushing td with 8:23 left in the 4th crushed the Sliverbacks who played a great game.

Scape Goat Uganda Rush D : 5.5 yards a rush given up will cost you close game.
African Killer Frogs 28 vs. Sahara ShadowChasers 30
In epic game Sahara won , the Killer Frogs think they lost because of a bug

The game was 14-3 Sahara at half a late 3rd quarter td and one with with 7 :21 in the 4th made things close. The ShadowChasers countered with a passing td with 1:18 left. Then only a few seconds later the Killer Frogs got a 57 yard td of their own.
