I figured since Griz is gone I'd help fill the void...don't know how often I'll do this, but I'm bored now so here we go...

West...

Team Winner @ Austin Outlaws - Austin will have no problem pulling a 100+ point win this game against a gutted team.

LA Sharks @ Phoenix Elves - Last time these two teams met, LA pulled what was considered an upset win against the at the time highly rated Phoenix team. If LA wants to pull that off again, their passing game is going to have to come ready, and their defense can't miss as many tackles as they did last time, or it will really cost them. If Phoenix can run a bit more and do as well as the last time they met, as well as get more possession, they can take it. Calling Phoenix by 3.

Putnam Co Keg Tossers @ Orlando Moon Doggies - Can't call my own game, so I'll just say good luck to both parties and hope it's a better watch than the last time you crushed us!

Seattle Grand Cru @ Tuscon Warriors - This will be a matchup of two good teams that have been playing inconsistently the past couple seasons. Seattle has been struggling to find a solid offense, whereas Tuscon knows they can throw a mean pass game. With a loss to Montana, I don't think Seattle can hold out to Tuscon this time around. Tuscon by 14.

Las Vegas Criminal Element @ Waller Knights - Western matchup of the week! According to the matchup, Waller are the underdogs here. The last time they met, Waller took away a convincing victory against an unboosted Las Vegas team. Now that the players are roughly even, this game will come down to game planning. I think Waller can do a better job here, and take away a 7 point win with their fantastic defense and run game.

West Lawn Bulldogs @ Florida Free Ballers - Florida gets to take it easy here against a gutted team.

Death Valley Vikings @ Carlona Krakens - The same goes for the Death Valley Vikings.

Lima Lemurs @ Cleveland Roughnecks - And the same for Lima.

East...

Nashville Psychotic Smilies @ Lowcountry Gators - This should be an easy win for Buzzkill and co, as they face off against a new team trying to organize a competitive roster together.

Montana Grizzlies @ Destin Pigskin Pimps - This is a tough one for me to call. While Destin has a strong team on paper, they haven't been as consistent lately, so I'm going to call an "upset" for Montana to win by 7.

Detroit Destroyers @ Columbus Woodys - Going to paste the original prediction back in when I get home from work.

Da NOLA Brah!! K&B Purples @ Bowdoin Polar Bears - Bowdoin will be the first team to give Da NOLA a 10 point game.

Vermont Ice Storm @ New Hampshire Hustlers - Eastern matchup of the week. New Hampshire comes into this one as a new and untested A#8 member. Their run game is good, but I think Vermont will be able to contain it for the most part, going by their track record. Vermont's passing game is also going to be a tough one to plan for. If New Hampshire can get a handle on that, it may be a close game, but I'm calling Vermont to win by 14 here.

Buffalo Beasts @ Crimson Maurauders - Anyone that can beat Putnam 41-7, pre-season or not, gets a win in my book.

Thorndale Bulldogs @ Rhode Island Wolves - Rhode Island will get an easy and large win here against a new and upcoming team.

Boston Shipheads @ Manhattan Massacre - While not grossly underpowered, Boston is a new team that is definitely in the works. Manhanttan should still pick up a significant win here.

Fair assessment. I would love to keep this game close. I am really looking forward towards our first game. GL to everyone on the start of the season.

Totally agreed. I've been working on the defense for this one, but don't have nearly the familiarity with this league, so there'll be a lot of experimenting for a bit.

I also expect to lose this one, but hope to keep it closer than 14.

Good luck to all, and thanks for doing the predictions.

Tom, word on the street was that you were pretty good at keeping pre-game rankings, predictions going.

We lost our league secretary in Griz, but I salute Avalon for giving it a go, but the more the merrier if you have a good routine.

I had the spreadsheet from Satchmo-n-Dizzy. I will update it for A #8 this season. Don't take these rankings as my rankings, though There are some flaws with it, but it certainly generates discussion.

Hopefully we can get a rematch against you this season. We lost in the preaseason to EZ COMPANY last season before beating them in the finals. A lot better competition here... pretty much no chance we run the tables this season too. Unless Detroit brought in a ton of new players and coaching staff, there is no way we should be an underdog against a team that didn't even make the playoffs last season.

I didn't. I don't know your team, and both teams look fairly equal, so I'm calling Detroit.

Thanks for letting me know you appreciate me spending time on doing this.

i would suggest at least being aware of a team's win/loss record from the previous season when making predictions

I would suggest at least being aware that I know your team went 15-1 in the BBB.

I would also suggest spending some time musing over the fact that A#8 East isn't BBB. If you're going to be all butthurt over my *prediction*, then win.

i fail to see how me questioning the amount of effort you put into your predictions after you make the statement "I don't know your team" qualifies as being "butthurt"

good to know that you spent the time looking up the record though, even if you were unable to tell the difference between preseason and regular season games or perhaps unable to do simple arithmetic

also after musing over the fact that A#8 East isn't BBB#16, i find myself curious, what was the Crimson Marauder's record in A#8 last year?

Season or playoffs? They finished top in a very competetive east (about 14-2 I think) and lost in the first round of the playoffs (yay last second field goals)

Considering to me it looks like you chimed in for your teammate, that leads me to think you aren't pleased with the prediction. If this is wrong, telling me that I know nothing isn't the same as telling me so.

I don't know your team. I've seen your record, I've browsed some of your regular (yes) season games. That doesn't mean I know your team. I've been in the same league as Detroit for 4 seasons, and I've played them, so there's a lot less uncertainty there.

Lima was 11-5. Las Vegas was 11-5. Manhattan was 11-5. Crimson was 14-2. Point? I was simply saying that you won't necessarily get promoted to a new league and just start wrecking face. Crimson was the only team out of those 4 that really excelled from the get go.

And pardon me for getting your record wrong, bigshot. I didn't notice pre-season was listed. I can assure you I can do math better than you, though.

my point was that crimson, much like columbus, entered USA A#8 coming off of an undefeated season playing in the Eastern Conference of USA BBB#16
