I think the best guards have softcap2 str and softcap1 blk. So you should first work on softcap2 str. Then go to softcap1 blk. After that, you start working on agi (first important minor skill) and then vis (second important minor skill).

My girls have been holding their own a bit. Whitney got bumped over and I think that's b/c I haven't gotten softcap1 blk yet.

the GLB forum has it basically. train str normal until SPs get it to softcap2. then train blk normal until SPs get it to softcap1. then agi. then vis. then conf.

but witht he new training thing, if you train on intense you can get bonus tokens to get extra sp.
do i train normal and hence speed up the amount of time to get to softcap and give up the extra sp i get from training hard

If you're slow building your guy, you're resigning to the fact that he won't be useful for a season or two. So, if that's the case, why would you settle for mediocricy? Spend the bulk of your SP building strength to the 4 cap and blocking to the 3 cap. At a certain point, you're not going to be able to train strength/blocking anyways, so that means you can start catching up your agility and speed, which doesn't take that long. Your crazy high strength means you can get by with sub 30 stamina pretty easily until you find the time to add some points into it. Vision isn't that important, and confidence doesn't matter if your player isn't good to begin with. You won't be putting any points into SA's until you're over level 20, but for a guard, I don't think it's that big of a deal.
