Fun game. Maybe it will finally knock WoW out of the market.

I don't know much about this one. Is it skill based or attribute based? How's the leveling system? Challenge level? Is there an I WIN class already? What is the class structure? Crafting? Anything else interesting of note?

I know I could go to their website for all this info but if someone is actively playing they have far more insight than the developers who will shamelessly promote their game (read:SW:G post combat balance).

Its atribute based. The leveling is slower than Wow. Only 40 levels cap. There are also PVP levels. I dont know about WIN classes yet. Kinda early, so hard to tell. One interesting thing to note is that the PVP quests (very similiar to wow's battlegrounds) give good exp. You get exp for player kills, and they also can drop loot. Not just coin, but green's and blues. The crafting seems kinda weak to me thus far. I think one of the coolest things is how loot is done. There are area quests where everyone in the area can participate. If you guys complete the quest, which normally involved a wave of standard mobs, elite mobs, then a boss, you get loot. The loot is kinda interesting. First everyone is giving a score based on how much they contributed. Then it rolls from 1-1000 and adds your score. The first person gets the best bag in the chest and so on until they are all gone. When you open your bag you get to pick one of I think 5 or 6 items. Pretty neat.

So far I would say the game is fun, but I am not sure how much staying power it will have. Even though the levels seem to be slowing in the mid teens, I still think people are going to hit 40 fairly quick then be bored. Just my thoughts.

I have to agree there. But that is why they released the classic server. And was really cool you could level there much quicker in like 20 hours gametime i was over 30.

But I do agree that leveling is slow in WAR but as others have said what you can do is fun. Besides the regular level you have renown leveling (only from RvR, works similar to RPs in DAOC) and influence leveling that you get from killing mobs/bosses in Public Quest areas. Once you reach a certain point in that, you get rewards.

I have not really tried anything crafting yet other then scavenger. I get to "double" loot most mobs (similar to skinning in WoW) and get different crafting reagents from all crafts.

As zyz said, it is too early to call an IWIN class yet.

How many here played AoC? That is my current MMO but I just cancelled my subscription. I level capped a Bear Shaman and just got so extremely bored with the game that I walked. The crafting was pretty useless, the quests were plentiful but normally not very involved, and the cap was too high to start out with in my opinion. As much as I enjoyed the graphics and design there was just no substance in the game to hold my attention.

Even though the 1-80 cap limit was very easy to power through I found AoC to lack content for several stretches of levels, the 50's in particular were just a grind. While my time grinding in EQ was enjoyable I have pretty much lost the taste for it now and like content driven leveling. I hope WAR involves questing throughout the cap push.

Just out of curiousity, what servers are you guys playing on? I would love to at least know someone going in. I went into EQ2 alone and spent my first 40 levels solo. I would rather not re-live that experience.
