King of the Hill:
Palau Pride...Palau Pride come into this upcoming season with a chip on their shoulder. Can they take the next step and become champions? Or will someone knock them off to become the new king of the hill...
Playoff contenders:
Papau New Guinea...could just as easily been king of the hill, but the edge went to Palau...Papau also comes into the season with a chip on their shoulder and want to grasp that ever elusive trophy....do they have the power to get the job done? They certainly appear to have what it takes...
Playboys Players Club...Where did these guys come from? After promotion to Oceania AA#3, these guys want to make a name for themsleves....they will have to beat the elite in this league before they get considered to be in the hunt! but they appear to be a tough team to say the least!
Cook Island Cobras...After coming off a disappointing playoff performance, Cook Island look to rebound and could very well do so this season....However, they must prove they can hang with the elite teams...
Oklahoma Bears...They certainly have the talent to win it all, but can they finally put it all together on the field? time will tell, but this team will definitely give teams a challenge!
Tonga Havoc...Perrenial powerhouse looks to repeat last years performance with one difference....to get promoted to AAA! Tonga will have a tough challenge ahead of them, but they seem to be up to the task!
EC Express....after making the playoffs last year, the Express were sent packing early...an event they want to change dearly this season! The Express do have something to prove...and hope to do so early and often this season!
gold Coast Marauders...Playoff team from last year that needs to put together a better season if they want to push for a championship...Can they overcome the challenges that lie ahead? We shall soon see!
On the Bubble:
Dayton buckeyes...difficult team to get a read on...they have quite a bit of talent on the team...they just need to start seeing the results on the football field...could sneak into the playoffs if they can knock off a contender!
Sacramento Skidmarks...gotta like the name, just hope their play is better than what may be deposited in some fatboy's pants (skidmarks)...With 2 Sacramento teams it may be difficult to distinguish between them, but they could make a run for a playoff spot.
Sacramento gunslingers...They appear to have some talent, but have not been able to produce on the field. If they can put things together early in the season, they COULD be contenders...but if last season was any indication...this team may be in the pretender category for some time to come!
At least a year away:
Oregon Vipers...not a chance....in 2 yrs...maybe. vipers appear to be building for the long term, which will make a lot of mediocre teams happy to get the win.
Suva Tsunami...Another team that appears to be gearing up for the long haul...nothing wrong with that, but not going to contend for much more than relegation. My money would be on Suva to win the relegation contest.
Seatle Stealth...I see a theme here...not a good one either...shouldn't be in danger of getting relegated, but not strong enough to make the playoffs....time will tell, but the Stealth appear to be outmanned!
Milwaukee Mayhem...Appears to be a rebuild from the old Abusement Park team....looks like they are doing a good job rebuilding, but most likely won't contend for the playoffs.
Papeete Pirate Pandas...Did they just win a game?!? Oh wait it is preseason and it was only by 3 points...In all seriousness, not enough talent here to contend...a growing trend with these Pandas...
This season should be a good one, as alpha appears to be getting tougher...seems like this league is not as top heavy as it used to be...which makes for some great competition! Good luck this season guys...I will leave you guys with my Alpha rankings....
