Warrior General Games

Who would be interested in having a running MVP in the Elephant Conference? And if so what do you think would be the best way to run it?

Here is some ideas of mine.

Each team puts in the votes following each game, and Each team can come up with what ever way they want
*Either the owner or a GM picks them
*or you can have a team vote if you want etc...

The votes could either be:
*The top 5 from either game (5, 4, 3, 2, & 1 votes)
*or to prevent bias votes, the top 3 from each team



Or I could just run it with the top performers list... might be easier and guarntee every game counts
*The first Top players would get 5 Pt's
*2nd top player 4 pts...etc

If we can't get everyone committed this would be the best option



I am happy to co-ordinate it

If we do use the top preformers list, we could maybe have the coaches award which will be special meantions for those players who didnt make it, but made some big plays etc...

I do this for my own team, so I'm not AGAINST the idea, but as we use a voting system and I think it comes out very fair (most cases, people don't vote for themselves unless it's just OBVIOUS, ya know), but I'm not certain something on that large of a scale could be done consistently each couple days or whatever...

Plus, I normally like to vote for a player who came up big in a big situation one or two times, saving a game from being lost, or making that critical turnover to win a game...not necessarily the best performer each and every time. Most cases it's teh top performer, but like I said...sometimes there's that huge play that without it, we would have lost, or wouldn't have won, whatever...

Since I don't intend to watch more than my own games, it'd be unfair for me to be involved, as I would simply be looking at stats all the time, and not performances.

All you would have to do is to submit votes for the game your team plays in... I take it you watch your team play?

So each game will have 2 people (owners) submitting votes...It just requires all owners to submit votes

This is why I was thinking of doing a running count of top preformers for the MVP... and then the owners can just submit votes that will count towards a separate award.

name of this seperate award?
*The Coaches Award?
*The Elephant Medal?
*The Team Player Award?

It would help make our forum a very active one that we can be very proud of

I think it would be cool, but we would all just have to to agree on how its voted for. If it's going to be purely stats(which I'm guessing it is) I'd like that.

Stats would make it more of an M.O.P. award, but it doesn't really matter.

How about if you could only vote for an opposition player? There couldn't possibly be any partiality then. Just a thought..

Well with that being said, I'd go for it. I'm in with this system in place.

Also, I think we should do this the right way if we do it, and have game Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams MVP voting for each game we play. Perhaps as AD_MVP said, only vote on the OTHER team's players, so each team gets a non-biased vote for each award

So will it just be the Hb who plays the gutted team each week?

You would think that the owner of the gutted team would take that into account.

that's why I don't think we should do MVPs for each team. Just 1 for offense, 1 for defense and 1 for special teams.(or up to 5 each like was suggested before)

Having a gutted team, I am expecting everyone to get out there passing game they can't normally play... that is the trend against gutted teams... but end of the day every team has a chance to play the gutted teams, so it will all lvl out in the end
