Lots of things could change but here is how I currently rate the Zeta teams.

The Heir Apparent

Wollongong Vampires – Have waited their turn to rule Zeta, this should be their year but the gap is closer than ever between the Zeta front runner and the contenders.

Seeking Playoff Home Games

SAFSrbija Endzone – Looked a bit vulnerable last year but showed their mettle late and in the playoffs.
Newcastle Minotaurs – Had an impressive season last year and are poised to continue to climb.
Vanuatu Volcano – Left with a whimper last season and are looking for redemption.
Huli Warriors – Consistently been in the noncontending playoff teams group, but looking to climb into the next group.

Solid Playoff Contenders

Walhalla Dingos – Impressive looking newcomer, could surprise some veteran teams and host a playoff game.
Chillicothe Convicts – Continue their climb up, from cellar dweller to solid playoff team.
Tuvalu Matadors – Another impressive newcomer, a proven winner but can they do it in a higher league?

Possible Playoff Contenders

Antarctica Seals – Another team that continues to improve, no more clubbing these seals they got teeth.
Hattrick Srbija – This streaky team could make the playoffs easily or miss them completely.
Sydney Hammerhead – Might still be a year away or could sneak into the playoffs.
Fiji Demon Dawgs – Last season they were gutted and rebuilt, but after all that work they still appear to be on the playoff bubble.

One Year Away

UWS OUTLAWS – Continue to get better but the league has improved a lot too, a better team but not much better position.
Cairns Fire – Relegated to the league but still has some work to do.
Micronesian Mutineers – Striving to get better but still have some work to do.
Las Vegas NightStalkers – A rebuild job that still has a ways to go.

Big Games Week 1

Endzone at Volcano – Could determine playoff seeding, close game last year.

Nightstalkers at Outlaws – This could cause a death spiral for one team.

Dawgs at Dingos – What can I say it’s gonna be a dog fight!

Many folks are still filling some spots so much may change, and this is just a first look. The conference is much more competitive top to bottom this year and the competition should be fierce. Good luck to all.

Good job as always Nats!

I appreciate the comment delrod, but I don't think we were underestimated by Nats at all, possibly overestimated. We are probably a year away from being able to compete with the Big Boys.

We will be a tougher game for sure, but still will be struggling to have a chance to make the playoffs. The conference is just that much tougher than last season I think.
