I feel bad for anyone who signs to the Mali Mystics. The owner is one of the rudest people that I've come across on GLB. For reference, I have 3 players available as a package deal. I challenge you, phillygh2054 and your Mali Mystics, to a scrimmage. Put your money where your mouth is!

He's obviously taken over a team that another owner took off on and decided to replace all the players he could, take the chem hit in one season and then dominate in the next...

He said he wasn't interested and that 2 of the 3 players, that he obviously wants to keep together, were not available. It should have stopped right there. The other guy started rooting for other players to pull away.

Right... but chem is reset to 70 across the board. If I have to explain why it's ridiculous that his chem is in the 30's in 7 days... wait. Nevermind.

Well, I didn't mean to offend you, it just looked like he was trying really hard to recruit your guy. A compliment if I've seen one. You should have been flattered. I'm just saying I think you took it to personally and I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it, but that he wanted you on his team. At any rate, I don't see it as any big deal. Not even sure it warrants a forum type of announcement. Anyway, on to the end of the season and beginning of a new one.

I really agree. Some people are a little more aggressive and don't stop right away, but I don't think he was being mean to you. The only thing I could fault him for was not taking the hint sooner, but maybe he was able to get a guy earlier by posting after a guy wasn't originally interested, I don't know. You are a very direct person and probably felt like he wasn't listening. I don't think that makes someone a bad owner. Sorry for the bad experience. I do wish people weren't trying to ruin peoples reputation though before we even meet the guy. This is a pretty close league and enjoy the other owners here.

There's a difference between being an agressive recruiter and just being an ass. He was basically telling GOLee what he needed to do. "Stop being so stubborn" and "you're going to force someone to sign him" (Which is basically what phillygh was offering to do), and then told him he was a better owner and has no class.

Sorry, I just can't buy that as being a good recruiter.

I missed the force someone to sign part. Maybe both these guys could of handled it different. He did only make the owner comment after he got called out as being a bad owner first.

I just want to reiterate these points. I created a thread that was clearly labeled "Package Deal" and listed the guys that were available. He essentially went to my profile and handpicked another group (2 of which are already committed to another team). Then, he calls me stubborn when he wants something that he cannot have???

As soon as he found out that my guys would out-level his current starters, he changed his offer and wanted the original group. I feel bad for his players because he obviously has no regard for commitment to them as starters. On top of that all, after I explained to him very plainly why I was not interested and asked that he not contact me anymore, he comes back with...let me quote it again.

Maybe I took it personal, but he made it personal. Ad hominem attacks because you don't get what you want? Dude, EVERY owner is rejected thoroughly on a daily basis in the recruiting season. I understand that. I would NEVER ridicule someone who didn't sign, especially if I demonstrated such ignorance of the players' request.

Awesome, we need a thread for this with lots of smack talk and get all the players from both teams links to it in their private forum and get them to talk. This will be the funnest game of the year!!!

Not what happened, but I got a good laugh out of it

Its ok, he will be banned for posting PM's without asking me first.

He left out half of the parts where he was being a complete ass, anything to make himself look good.

But I accepted his little "challenge".

Also, my Chem is only bad because of all the moves I have had to make in order to get players.

Its hard taking a gutted team and doing what I did to it in only 7 days
