I will do as much as I can this season to keep the Lion conference lively and active. I can't stand a boring league thread. I have moved on in USA#1 where I did my weekly predictions and rankings with newspaper articles and such. So AA#3 will get these services from me now. I just ask that you guys stay involved and use some tact. While most of what I say/Project is opinion, I try to base them on stats and facts.
Argument and debate are expected, but lets keep it logical and clean.

The first Africa AA#3 Rankings and team outlook.

1 Sahara Sand Storm 15-1-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2818
Outlook:
After a great regular season performance in season four, SSS had its hear broke in the conference championship. The team has almost the entire crew coming back, and another season of playoff experience to build on. The passing game could use a couple of playmakers, while they weren't the most impressive passing attack they were very efficient. The team did have the highest completion percentage in the conference. The running game was tops in the conference, and should be up there once again. this is where the points come from and enables the defense to stay fresh and keep the other team at bay. I look for more of the same this season. if it ain't broke don't fix it. The defense, tops in the league last season should carry the torch once again. They allowed only 4 fg a game. It is no mistake that they had the best team in the conference last season. I look for the team to redouble their efforts and come out with a merciless attitude in season 5.
Playmakers
(HB) Cripkid Nolegs Tough runner returns for the most impressive run game in the league.
WR) Hot Chick The most dependable option in the passing game has to perform to keep opposing defenses honest.
(CB)Cover 2 one of the better CBs in lion. a turnover machine and sure tackler.
(DE) Bay Watch 17 sacks, should help an already good defense get some more pressure..

2 Cybertron War Machine 5-11-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2815
Outlook:
CWM could be first, but I believe you have to prove it on the field. CWM was a playoff caliber team in season four, but decided against settling for a playoff appearance. Instead choosing to build for season five and beyond. Despite shipping some of their proven play makers off to earn cash for the future, CWM put a dangerous offense on the field. The team was as lethal as any through the air relying on big plays. This in spite of playing most of the season with minimum energy. Look for a much improved defense whit D-coordinator Pysco getting his full compliment of players on the field the defense will be among the best if not the best in AA#3. The team may lose a couple early in the season, but look for them to gain steam throughout the season and secure a top four playoff spot.
Playmakers:
(HB) * Sound Wave Had a nice season, especially productive when you consider the lvl gap and lack of blocking.
(WR) * Sixshot Big play receiver can make a DB cry for momma.
(DT) Huffer 0 Maybe not a playmaker, but the anchor of the defense.
(LB) * Prowl Has been amongst AA#3 top LBs since he was a LVL 4.

3 Lima Cheetahs 10-6-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2814
A well built squad that IMO underperformed last season. I think the team ownership has to iron out the scouting and game planning to maximize the talent and take the next step. Right now, my opinion is based on talent alone. The offense elies on the run game to get things going, and is similar to SSS in the run game. While pretty efficient, they too could use a little more explosion and consistency from the pass game. The defense while solid against the run, gave up a few TDs that could be cut back on. The pass defense held its own allowing only 12 TD through the air. If the team can cut down the rushing TD will be a premier unit.
Playmakers:
(HB) Bavid Deckem and (HB) JJ Price This is a heck of a one two punch and provides a solid core for the offense to work with.
(CB) BamBam Hollywood in a secondary that has to make way too many tackles, this guy had a ton of PDs and the team leader in INT.

4 Tanzania Lumberjacks 6-9-1
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2813
Tanzania made the second biggest jump this season so far. They did it through FA and trades too. Proof you can recruit good player. This team brought in 8 players above level 22 so far. 6 were above 24. A hard write up with so many new faces, but I will try. They appear on paper to have not only plug gaps, but really make a difference all around. They have improved the passing attack with a quality QB, and the running game with a solid HB to go along with an already good OL. the Offense appears primed to be a balanced machine. Putting the pieces on the field as a cohesive unit is the challenge. You got that babe to the prom, do you know what to do with her?
On defense, its almost a whole new unit. some solid DTs, DEs and CBs will do wonders for the team.
Playmakers
Who the hell knows? IT will be fun to see who rises up.

5 G-Vegas Pirates 11-5-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2816
Pirates are a pretty well balanced team. Just a little soft up the middle to be a top four candidate. The DL and OL are the weaker parts of the team. They seem to be built well, so that bodes well for their late season performance. This team has a grown up passing attack. Last season they went for over 4k yds. This goes along with the 1800rushing. Balanced enough that you have to account for the run and not focus solely on shutting down the pass. The offense can compete with any in the conference. The defense is classic bend but dont break. they give up a few too many yards, but finished in the top 5 for points scored. Tighten up the yardage this season, and its going to be one heck of a tough out.
Playmakers
The passing offense No one stands out, it seems they just work well as a unit.
(LB) Feeling Lucky Punk? A tackling machine. thats what you need from a LB. 103 tackles last year.

6 Burundi Bone Strippers 11-5-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2824
BBS has a solid plan in place, use our 5yd per carry running game to impose our will on you and use our great defense to frustrate you. The running game is nice, the issue is fumbles. Get the fumbles under control this off season and a strong team gets stronger. The passing attack is middle of the road in the conference, but it isn't the calling card of this team. The defense is not on the field too much. They need to shore up the pass defense a little and work on explosives. Should b a tough team come playoff time.
Playmakers
(HB) Bo "Knows" Jackson and (HB) Guy Vaught Bo 8.2 are you serious? this is a very nice set of backs.
(FS) Jonas Buckles FFs, INTs and safety oh my! Has a knack for the big play it seems.

7 Casablanca Bogart's 10-6-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2810
This is a solid team the offense is a power running attack with a supplemental passing attack that relies on completions not big gains. This team will line up and hit you in the mouth on offense. On defense, they are middle of the road, but are better than avg at stopping the pass. Esp passing TDs, only giving up 12 last year. Tighten up the D and get the ground game pounding and we have serious contender.
Playmakers
(HB) Gigantic African This guys is a beast and you better game plan for him. He is getting his yards and will be among the league leaders when the dust settles. Coolest name in the conference too. it could be a porn name, or a wrestling name.
(CB) Tanny Manner The glue in the secondary. Not the best build on earth, but he makes plays.

8 Canandaigua Braves 10-6-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2817
I thought this team was a little higher up than this, but after deeper digging I cant put them higher because of the defensive line. Those DTs are way below par IMO. Every thing starts there and with the quality running games of the playoff teams if the DL isn't fixed its going to be a close but no cigar kind of season. There was a DT with an open build, and honestly I hope all three aren't built like that. The good news is They should be able to run the ball pretty well although it seems some recruiting still needs to be done in the WR corps. One good WR would go a long way toward helping. The defense is mostly younger and a bit thin. If HBs get past those DTs, at least they have hard hitting safeties.
Playmakers
(HB) Chris Tauterouff Hope he has good stamina because he will need to be a workhorse while the kiddos at WR grow up.
(LB) Sean Regan A vacuum cleaner at LB will need to be huge with that DL.

9 Durban DesertHawks 8-7-1
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2823
DDH are up and comers. Depth is a big concern as is a few positions being manned by a few lower level guys, but that can be fixed easily and if the builds are right, the young guys can really contribute toward the second half of the year. The offense is a bit young at WR, FB and a couple of the OL positions. Teh OL is a bit thin. A bit of game planning can be doen to limit the leaks while the young guys grow. Strengths are the TE and HBs, I think they can put a productive product on the field.
Defense is a bit thin as well, I am not a fan of the softness up the middle of the DL. Have to fix that in the off season. The secondary has some leveled guys and could be a strength. Can they stop the run? thats the big question really. They need some depth and a few playmakers if the playoffs are the goal. IF they can get just a little more talent and a few bounces, it is possible ot sneak into the playoffs.
Play makers
(TE) Chad Dormeaux Has to be a big part of the offense while the team matures. He hates the level 13 TE and demands him be traded.
(HB) Hamburger Pimp Needs to close his build. This guys isn't a special back, but he is good enough to carry the load and could be pretty nice as he levels.

10 BALTIMORE BALLERS 5-11-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2820
Baltimore was an up and down team. Mostly down, but everyonce in a while, they showed they could hang offensively. The offense starts and ends with the pass game. If the line gives them time to throw, the passing game will keep them in most games. The thing is they need to at least have a threat to run, because every coordinator in the league will go pass heavy defense. The defense was middle of the road last year, the biggest shortcoming was the lack of big plays, and allowing long third downs. If they can create some turnovers and limit the oppositions run game a bit more the outlook for these guys is up.
Playmakers
(QB) Martin Pinstrup Could start for most teams in the conference. Offense begins and ends with the pass.
(WR) TOM SLOBBERKNOCKER Are you kidding me? 107 receptions? this guy is good.
I tried to find a defensive playmaker, I couldn't. the Leading sack getter had 3, ints 3, FF 4.

11 Cape Town Cowboys 2-14-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2819
Had a horrid season last year. I cant see too much improvement. They will be lucky to finish in the top 10. If it happens consider me impressed. The offense has a few bright spots to work with in the top receivers they have, but the biggest need heading into the year are HBs. They need to sell everyone in the backfield and start over. The starting HB has his build open and I threw up a little in my mouth. The defense, needs to tackle a lot better. Still some serious work to be done. The good thing is they have the offseason to get it done.
Playmakers
(WR) calvin 81 and (WR) Randy Erickson provide reliable targets that they can use to build on.
Defense has no standouts IMO, some decent levels but they need to do something.

12 Nairobi Warthogs 3-13-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2723
A relegate from above. The team appears to have some talent. Atleast some decent levels. I am not sure if they were on the team last season or just bad builds. The depth is a concern, but if the builds and strategy is correct, they can finish a few spots higher. The offense likes to air it out and has a good QB and a couple of nice receivers. With a little help fromthe running game, the team could put on a decent offense. The defense specializes in missed tackles and giving up points.
There are some solid pieces in place to build on. With some luck in free agency may show improvement.
Play Makers
(LB) Menno Rasmussen very good numbers for a LB, the FFs really stand out.
(QB) Max Mason He has solid stats, if he can get some consistency around him will be a top performer in AA#3.

13 Sudan Vipers 0-16-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2822
Well, as you would expect, Sudan was at the rear of the field in both offense and defense last season. If the team expects to get out of the cellar, they need to really get the builds straight and bring in some ringers. The offense is balanced, inept at running and passing. Honestly, if they can get the blocking in order they may have a decent rushing attack. The defense just needs some speed and direction.
Playmakers:
HB Jay McDestyn The closest thing to a playmaker the team has. There is no excuse for him getting less carries than the other back.

14 Mozambique Vampires 8-8-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2812
Another gut job. Why, dont buy a team if you aren't ready for it. I was sad when I saw this. I guess I should pay more attention on the forum. I will from now on.

15 Carthaginian Horde 1-15-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2714
Outlook:
Grim, right now I look for them to be relegated, Seems to be selling off the team and wants to be relegated.

16 South Africa Hitmen 13-3-0
http://goallineblitz.com/game/roster.pl?team_id=2811
Outlook:
A tragic tale of GLB gutting. A once proud and formidable team is left adrift with only cpu players. It will take a modern miracle to avoid relegation. If the new owner makes it happen, the guy will deserve some major props.

Looks great Buddy! The jacks have brought in a lot of additions, but I'll reserve myself away from predictions and hope our record will show we've arrived.

As always... If you keep away from selling off your plaers.... I think you are underselling Cybertron War Machine

great. my only thing with lima about the pass is they run 2 QB's. most great teams only run with 1.

Holy crap!

I can't wait to see what you have to say about the Jacks... LTD and the elephant conference might get jealous about how nicely the Lion rankings are done.
