I posted this intheother forum of the Defensive AI thought I'd post it here too.

I tried the "alternating" blitzing package with 2 max blitzers and 5 with percetnages of 50%. I always had 2 blitzing in the situation. Works great.

Has anyone noticed that 3-4 dime sometimes pulls the FS over to a WR3 receiver for man to man coverage in cover 0(man coverage) and the CB falls into a zone?

Has anyone answered if the TE's are considered in the WR set for number of recievers?

IS ther some way of setting blitz paths? For some reason when a LOLB on my team is blitzed with his pass rush on agility he tries to go thru the guard when stunting around the end is what he should do.

Has anyone mapped out the zone coverages from each coverage from each defensive formation?

About how many plays should you really have set? How much is too much? How much is too little?

I try to cover every possibility. Then tweak and try to improve what I have after every game.

It gets tough, but I think I do a fair job.

I do, formations + WRs + 3rd Down situations + Red zone situations + goal line situations + late 2nd qtr + late 4th qtr situations.

So I have a lot of plays. I don't think its too many. And maybe only half get called per game. Who cares, as long as they work.

I'm still having trouble with stopping that medium pass. It just irritates the hell out of me. I will have a guy double and triple covered and he still catches it.

I think you could set the path of his blitz by shifting the linebackers to one side. When he's already on the outside he can't rush through the guard.

My question is, do the settings such as coverage distance, play focus etc always override the players individual settings?

Based on Satchmo's post on defensive ai, I would say yes, but I don't know for sure

I'm actually pretty sure they are different things. Player's play focus is which type of play they read better/get fooled by, by the team focus just moves the LB's and safeties to either stack the box or stay back. For coverage, the player's tactic refers to how close you will try to stay throughout the route, the team setting just means how deep your guys playing zone will start out (i think).

Like I said, my post was not based at all on my own experience.

I'm glad you could offer your own experiences to help. I'm still trying to figure all of this AI crap out myself.

To the guys who said they plan their defense around # of receivers, I hope my team plays you this season. I spent the last 2 or 3 games running test offenses to figure out what play calls to what. I have found a few great exploits (i.e. throwing out of 2 WR set, and even a decent run on a 4 WR set). I also saw a few 2 WR, 2 TE sets that worked just amazingly.

If you are a DC, you should do some research on what formation runs what

Thats the idea of AI in GLB. those plays that catch the unaware off guard.

Could it be a problem with vision/confidence? Maybe they are too low and he therefore takes the wrong path.

Since there is no 4 WR set, you might want to go back as an OC and do some more research yourself!
