For our last game I set us to run almost exclusively in the 1st quarter. Instead, our first drive had the offense threw the ball 5 times and ran once before kicking a FG.
The next drive went much more according to script, but we still threw twice on 1st & 10. After that it ran as I programmed, but still can't figure the 1st quarter out.

When I run the AI Tester for 1st down, all over the field, with the score tied. I come back with 100% Run every time.

Any ideas why it completely ignored the play calling and did whatever the heck it wanted?

#1) Your output could have missing parameters, look at it closely

#2) Make sure Offensive AI is set to be followed exactly, and auto-adjust is off.

#3) I've noticed that inside runs which don't specify a rusher can sometimes produce outside runs. I've never passed out of nowhere, but it seems when you aren't completely specific you open the door to small bugs.

Thanks for the input.

1 - Went back and double checked, all outputs are set except the ones specfied as 'blank'. I've never had a problem with leaving some fields blank before though.

2 - Definitely off.

3 - It doesn't bother me if the run doesn't script exactly. But when my 100% run game plan turns into an 83% pass plan, I have to scratch my head.

don't really have an answer....but i'll add this.....

although we have no specific AI instruction for first quarter other than 3rd and 4th down instructions.....in a few games we have had 75 to 80% run parameters yet on the opening drive we come out and throw 7 or 8 times in a row.....kind of weird but similar to what you are suggesting....

Yep Ninja, that's exactly what I'm talking about. When you're programmed to run 100% of the time on 1st down and instead it throws 90%, it really looks like it's mis-coded.
