What are some good ways to stop the run, besides obviously focusing on run D?

Do some research - defensive AI tactics are like battleship - you're trying to base your tactics on what you think your opponent is going to do... you might go for I-5 and set your tactics to stop the pass on 2nd and short situations and they end up running.. or you can sink their battleship when you realize they ALWAYS run on 1st and 10. Hope that made sense/helps.

It all depends on how you blitz. Pay attention to where your other team does most of their running while watching their game film. Is is primarily up the middle, pitches to the outside. Maybe if they are running to the outside you may want to take a risk on defense and blitz your CB and have your safety cover the WR. It will suck if they pass on you but if they dont you could have a huge stop in the backfield. You could also try putting your better DT as a DT instead of NT to try and create a mis match. This type of game planning becomes a lot easier when you have players on your team that are willing to become active and help you scout.

i find this works best...

4-3, strong side shift, run focus, cover 0.

but it all depends on where exactly they rush too - my team was getting eaten by power backs, but this fixed it in a jiffy
