What I do to keep my fullback in the backfield on goal-line situations is put in a backup offensive tackle in the TE No. 3 spot. i guess if he goes out for a pass it's a tackle eligible.
He won't get any snaps as a receiving TE if he's not on the TE depth chart, as the sets only use 2 TEs if not in goalline formation. I don't think he'll get too many passes as the third TE in goalline sets anywho, but I assume you want him pounding the ball into the endzone. Outside of putting someone else in your depth chart as the 3rd tight end you're probably out of luck though
We have our back-up FB listed as our third TE. That solves the goalline issue but he does get 1 or 2 passes thrown his way throughout the game. It would work better if our starting TE had higher stamina or if our back-up TE didn't play both ways on ST.
