i had suggested a scouting function in the suggestion where you pay money and you could see an opposing player's attribute but nobody liked it and said you scout by past game logs. im a newbie, what do you guys look for? not many broken tackles vs lots of broken tackles might be an indicator of strength i would suppose for an offensive player and lots or few opputunities/missed tackles might be indicators of speed on defense? I'm playing a FB and a FS. how do you guys do it?

Not hitting the link, but when I scout I...
1) Look at their depth chart, looking at every player to find if any have open builds, and looking at their depth vs. my teams' depth.

2) Use a greasemonkey script that breaks down yardage over the air and on the ground, how many attempts, and a BUNCH of jazz that hels you speculate on how they play.

3) Watch the Play by Plays and take a bunch of notes. How players act on the field, if their RB dances or powers thru the Dline, their exact playcalling selections, and how they are vs. blitzes.

This is fairly basic but you can easily adapt once you have all that info.

This involves much more time than you need to commit based on how much we can actually control of the game. Keep it simple. Since Offenses can't really do much other than run a balance, run more inside, run more outside, Pass more than run or run more than pass you don't need to make it take all day to gameplan. The defense is very much ahead of the offense but that doesn't mean you need 100 input/outputs in your defensive AI to defend the Offense your playing because Offense can't really control what they do as of yet.

I look for what their habits are (throw/pass, inside/outside, FB/HB, WR/TE), they key playmakers, and their weaknesses. I then compare that to my team strengths and tell our GM's and they arrange a gameplan that fits both.

For example...if a team sucks VS rushing, but is okay against passing, you'll advise to run lots, and throw less. But if your running sucks, and throwing is good, you can afford to throw more than would normally be advised based on their D, because your O compensates.

let me ask,do what the play by play while the games are close ? CPU still takes over when down by 10 or so to bring on the air attack, and when up by so many the cpu take overs and have the winning team try to run out the clock ?
