Are short passes still worthless or were they fixed in season 4 updates?

I'm not sure that anyone has bothered to find out

IMHO they've never been worthless, just badly balanced. Some people corollate "short pass" with "HB dump" which is wrong - yes, the HB dump-off is worthless half the time, but a short pass to a WR or TE will see the player targeted (generally) between 4 and 5 yards downfield. The bad balancing comes from short passes not being any easier to catch than medium passes, which pretty much kills their usefulness.

I think it can be effective if used right. I've seen some CBs w/ low agility have trouble guarding WRs who make quick cuts.
