Here's the scenario. We were up by 34 in the 3rd Qtr. 12 mins left. 4th and 0.5 from our own 34.5 yard line. Now I'm not complaining because we converted the 4th down. I'm just wondering if the sim will automatically go for a 4th down if there is a high probability we will convert.
Nothing in my AI instructs the sim to go for it in this situation. It is instructed to punt. Does anyone know anything about this and why it happened?

I may have figured it out. My 100% Punt Input wasn't set to "punt" on the output play type.
The play type was set as "use base settings". That's why the output says 100% (run/pass). Still that doesn't explain why it went for it. Wouldn't base settings Punt in that situation?

Base settings = whatever you set in the Basic settings for run/pass %

It does not mean "use the default AI".

You've got the play named right, but it is set to run/pass instead of punt.

yah, yah. I'm supposed to be a veteran team owner. I let that one slip.
Fortunately my team was bad as$ enough to convert the 4th down. Honestly, I didn't know whether to cheat and edit the original post. Good thing my fellow SEA AAA #2 owners didn't catch wind of this.
