Just curious on this idea if it could possibly work.

My team was playing a team that was totally gutted out. Their team is filled with players from level 1-5.

Anyways, their kicker was a level 2. The kickers leg strength was so bad that it wouldn't come close to the KR. None of the other kick return guys would go after the ball, only the KR. The kicks were so short that by the time my KR got the ball, there was already a swarm of kickoff team players to stop him. It was funny because my KR ran past a line of blockers. So the KR would pick up the ball at the 30 with a line of blockers still at the 25.

So, what if a team puts in a kicker with just 8 kicking strength and the rest of KOS would be high level players with extraordinary speed. Is it conceivable to think that the kickoff would be so short that the kickoff team could recover the football before the kick returner got there in time to pick it up and return it?

Sorry if you find this idea stupid. Just an idea that came up and I thought I would ask some experts since I am still kinda a beginner in this game.

I thought you could separate those two spots. I thought you could have a kicker specifically for kickoffs and another kicker for field goals

Hopefully some day there will be real onside kicks (with the AI acting correctly, not just waiting for the KR to get the ball).

In the meantime, just sign a level 1 WR with 8 STR and 8 kicking and let that guy dribble your kickoffs to the 40. You ought to be able to recover that. Who cares if you can't kick a field goal?

Last season, I saw a team who put a LB at Kicker and recovered the ball, but they didn't get possession. I doubt they've fixed it since there's no normal onside kicks yet.

Did you notice that the kicker was the one returning kicks also?
