Anybody have tons of success with this? I tried lots of different blitzing schemes in the preseason and found them to be pretty ineffective. Way more often than not, the QB would hit the open TE or back who was left uncovered. If you've had success getting pressure on the QB often, then please share, because I've just had to go with the 4 man rush playing cover 2 man pretty much all the time, and I want to mix it up with some blitzes.

MLB blitzes have had some success for teams that I've seen. The center doesn't pick it up all the time, leads to a fair bit of hurries/stuff depending on the personnel. I can't say I have the most experience with a lot of blitzing schemes, but I hear people are trying the whole 'blitz a random linebacker' in 3-4 formation and being somewhat successful.

A DE on my team has 15 sacks in two games (8 today in a loss). Guess this doesn't help you much because of course I'm not going to give out his build.

Since he's been so successful I think we're cutting back on blitzing, maybe that helps (if the QB has to hold the ball because the receivers are covered).

ha, I guess just getting perfectly build DEs would solve the problem, but that's hard to do by recruiting. I'm looking to see if anybody has seen any combinations of blitzing to stand out as effective. I tried in the preseason, but I got burned on almost each one. While the 4 man rush can suffice, I want to add a little extra.

From what I've seen having a few very strong linemen who draw double or even triple teams opens it up for everyone else.

Big Tackles and Defensive Ends with real high strength really draw attention to themselves- if left to one-on-one they will pancake a weak center or guard, and if double teamed it open up space for the faster guys to reach the QB.
