we have a defensive AI input for single back, 3 WR sets...and we also have an input for shotgun formations...

will this play give us an output for the shotgun formation, or will it call a play based on the fact that it's a single back, 3 WR play? Or will it call a play based on whichever input is listed closer towards the top?

Whichever is on top and matches the settings.

Singleback formation does not match Shotgun formation though. Faux and I are debating this in PM but id like to hear an official answer to this if Bort is around. It SHOULD go with the Singleback outputs since the 2 are completely different formations, even though they both contain 1 RB and 3 WRs. So even though Singleback 3 WR is on top of the Shotgun in our playbook, if they go shotgun with 3 WRs, it should take the outputs from the Shotgun formation. Should is the operative word.

While shotgun can have 3 WRs and 1 HB, its not 'singleback' formation -- singleback is

(blah, diagram doesn't work with the spacing :| 3 WRs, one HB, but QB lines up under center, not in the shotgun)

Or something similar, atleast in my understanding. It would go to the shotgun settings because the opponent came out in the shotgun formation, regardless of whether the singleback one is above it.

Nixx is wrong. Snakebite and Sigmaforce are right. I checked the plays from our last game, matched the inputs with the outputs, and found that 1 HB 3 WR sets in shotgun formation were using plays from our shotgun playbook.

heh yeah.

I guess everyone should just be clear that single back with 3 WR's is very different from SHOTGUN with single back and 3 WR's.
