Tormoil brews in the Saipan Fighters locker rooms. Everyone on edge with the number of trades lately. Who's going? Who's staying? Several pre-season trades has caused an upraor and the team chemistry is falling apart. What are the Fighters to do? Team captains Russel Brown, Big Bob Sapp and Nikolay Valuev are trying to hold the team together. Twenty-one new guy have come to the team in the off-season and pre-season so no one knows each other very well and tempers are flaring. Fights over jersey numbers, starting positions, coaching and management are more than what the leaders of the team seem to be able to handle.

Two pre-season games have come and gone and brought a little confidence on the field. Favored against both the Green Bay WOODUHS (59-0) and the Dogdandy Enforcers (101-6), the Fighters came through as expected. But even then players not totally happy. The Defense has practically fried Chris Hit for his mis-tackle of ROOKIE Willie Parker in the second quarter against the Dogdandy Enforcers to allow the only points of the pre-season scored against the Fighters.

Today's Game against the Vanuatu Kava Sharks looks to be a dismal one for the Fighters. The balanced Vanuatu Kava Sharks are favored to win this one and are talking a lot of smack about the Fighters. With only 5 players with a status lower than twenty the Vanuatu Kava Sharks look pretty tough. The Fighters will have to try and squeeze past their tough offensive line and pressure what they call the weak link QB Michael Cannon. What will come of today's game? A little running game might be just enough to break the defense line and line backers of the Sharks. TBD...

McGruffHawk picks:
Vanuatua -49.5 over Saipan - Zeta's most recent promotion makes its debut over a rebuilt Saipan team who look to make a run late in the season, but will struggle out of the gate against elite teams.

It was rumored the owner of the Saipan Fighters had bought a gun and had it at his desk. With the dismantling they took from the Vanuatu Kava Sharks, comicfanman walked back to his office with his head hung low and has not been seen since.

In the locker room the defensive coordinator Jasonthelamb was all over his guys for the number of missed tackles. The game might have not looked so bad if they just made some tackles. Some plays there were 2 and 3 missed tackles at a time. You can't win any ball games that way.

It is slightly rumored that the offense was out on the town late the night before and forgot to bring the "A" to the game, well heck they forgot how to play the game. Kid Dynomite is known to throw a few down and it showed with the number of dropped passes he had. The running backs were having fits because of the low number of carries they had, not that any more carries would have helped the Fighters. Biggest voice in the locker room was from TE Hop and Bop - "We are not going to win any games if you don't get me the ball, we have too many showboats on the team. I am the number 1 guy here, so I demand some respect!!!"

Game two looks to be another tough one for the Saipan Fighters as the coaching staff is scrambling for some answers on how to handle the Co-op City Blitz. Looks like 0-2 to start season 4 for the Fighters.
