Possibly? I mean, any dot you created today would get enough TP's and stuff to get grown fine. Not sure about (game XP) boosts though. Someone else likely knows the answer.
Most teams are likely filled though. Could be a few that aren't. Probably better to latch on to a team starting next season and start from scratch. In the meantime, nothing wrong with experimenting with a dot (free would be smartest bet since exchange rate for Flex when retiring has greatly changed).

Good advice. make a free dot now, re-learn how to build and get used to the new system and everything, and then plan to retire that player and catch on with a team taking new players next season.
