Since Trentw introduced me to 'Slow Build' in S11, I have been a believer. Even if it only increases1% it is still worth it. Any improvement is an edge that makes a difference in end build!
Let others go the route of excellent, choose ELITE!!!

Yeah I feel the same way, although it is sometimes a painful journey....

For years (decades?)... before the crash... there were a handful of great build guides, even for slow builds. But the gains made simply were not worth the effort and, so, most everyone built the "normal" way. Anyone who boosted early and often got laughed at and, likely, their dots constantly got unsigned and recycled once past the mid levels.
Now we have accelerated building. Now you don't have to slough through a buncha seasons to have fun with your slow built dots. Mind you, some will still believe boosting early and often will turn out fine. And some might even stick to the "old school" as I did this first time through. Go with what you know and ya can't screw it up. But my dots are finished as are all others and these post-crash test dummies look good... but the slow builds look a bit better. Not leaps and bounds, mind you... but enough for me to make the switch. I'm with ya Kobber... I'm with ya.

So what I'm hearing is don't waste flex on boosting? Seems like a poor way to generate money to not have that carrot on a stick hanging out there for most people to bite....

it ends up being the same amount of boosts... slow building now, might start something like not taking any boosts until playoff time of the first full season... and then delaying boosting as much as possible until key caps can be hit.

its not like the old school no boost slow building.

What GroupOh said. The boosts are the same whether you boost old school, boost early and often, or do the slow boogie... it's all about the when and the why.

Don't bother trying to be elite, if you're not in the elite club already.

Build dots that you like. Stick around and get better. Every successive dot you make will be better than the last one, as you learn more about the game.

Let the nerds enjoy their end game nerdery and playing with themselves. The end game is the same 10 agents creating the same dots over and over coordinating 10 different teams, hoping that RNG goes their way.

WL has always been the cake, and the cake is a lie.

I wish a mod would move this elitist propaganda. It's what killed the game in the first place.

Hard to argue with this statement, although I don't think all 10 of the elites are "elitists".

ROFL, as usual, thanks for the info guys.

Keep building dots, keep boosting whenever i damn well please(Based on the mood of the mathematics in my brain). 10-4

Theres a place for everyone. If you want a fun build or a tryout dot. Or you want the dot you spend money on playing at the highest level
But if you want your dot to play at the highest level and not every one does then you need to maximize training gains and conserve resources so that that you do not needlessly waste them. ie if you are going to boost early then theres no need to "over" enhance secondary or tertiary %ages. The best way to maximize training gains is to train at lower levels so therefore boosting at the latest possible time would seem to fit that plan

Fwiw, if you do truly want the best L79 dot, skipping Season 0 boosts and instead boosting late is clearly the way to go. There is no debate here from those agents good at math.

There's an elite club? From what I've seen from most people, even those who have been here forever and are "good at math" are not good at math lol. I rarely see anyone train right and I'm not talking about multi vs light vs normal vs etc....

The nerd part of the game is something I enjoy now, and hate the Xs and Os, it's what burnt me out 80 seasons ago lol. Now that I've wrapped up my first dots I plan on making quite a few of the best dots that I can and just staying out of the coaching side.

A truly elite dot is wishful thinking. It would require so much micro management and knowledge of the internals of the programming too. Just do what you enjoy and have fun with the game. Following specific, out of date, and even wrong build plans as a team requirement defeats the whole purpose of the game imo and drives people away. It's a game, not a job.

There are barely enough teams for a WL + filler leagues, let alone everyone who wants to build different ways. Not disagreeing slow building is the most efficient way to build, but when this place finally dies it will be because it was the most boring way to build and a waste of seasons.

I say make it so boosts need to be used in the preseason or you lose them.
