I logged in to find my player dropped from a CPU team midseason - is that because I failed to log in for a set number of days? I was out of town and just saw it. Or is there a different reason? Thanks!

If you don't log in for several days you get booted from D league teams...I forget the exact number of days

I agree, dumb rule for a player residing on a CPU team. Put a note as such in Suggestions?

Once it shows inactive in red, you get auto dropped. Think its 4-5 days

you get 5 days of inactive and on the 6th day rollover, you get dropped. i suppose its so that other active players get more playing time. if you arent going to be activwe then join a human team. same reason you dont get BTs after 14, if you are not on a team. remember those rules are from the days when finding any team to play on was really hard at the beginning
