So, as it is now and as it's been for a long time, when a team signs an ST coach, they must also make them OC and/or DC as well so that they have access to the Tactics Calendar. Also, simply signing someone as a ST coach doesn't even give them access to making a ST depth Chart (just had that happen recently to myself) so they can't even SET the ST's then save a Preset.
Perhaps it's simply a touch of confusion or a missed 'tag' you give your ST coach that causes this. My point is, it shouldn't be an issue! When you sign on as an OC, you have access to see players, make depth charts, make presets, and use the Tactic's Calendar. Same thing for DC's. It's AUTOMATIC for them. So why... why is this NOT the SAME for ST coaches? It should be.
End the difference. End the confusion. Fix this, Bort. It's not a huge deal but it sure would be nice to not have to PM a team owner to get extra access to do my work. Thanks.

not sure I want my ST coach messing with anything other then ST depth charts, making sure the Dc on the offense n defense is not messed with? i do like that the ST coach can see all builds as well as have the ability to make their changes but thats it.

For formality's sake:

I think Theo is saying there should be an access level for the ST Coordinator. my suggestion would be this:

1) give players an OC/DC and ST checkbox on a player

2) whomever on the team then hits the checkbox that the player can placed on the OC/DC or ST Depth Charts

3) the the particular ST coach can see the players to whom he/she/them/those/they have access to put on the STDC.


Pretty sure this isn't the first time someone has mentioned this.

as a programmer, Theo, this is not a slam dunk. it would require putting the player in a different DB table then all the references....nvm

I like that the ST ONLY has access to the STDC chart but don't we also need a way to limit the STCoordinator from not putting the starting QB on Kickoff cover

It's no different than any team, the Offense has first say on who is or in not put on ST, then Defense. STCoordinator then chooses from the list they're given.

If done just like OC and Dc then it wouldn't be that way. As it is now, if you have an OC and give him OC access, he can set his preset depth charts and use the tactic calendar. But he cannot set mess with the defense (other than on the Calendar). And most OC's and DC's don't screw with each other or ST's and most ST coaches don't screw around with OC and DC stuff. But ALL have access to the calendar... and their own Depth Charts... except ST coaches. All I'm saying is make it the same for each coach and eliminate this sh*t. If you can code the differences in for OC vs DC then do the same for ST's. The codes exists... why it was never in for ST's I don't know. What? Did WG think all us ST coaches can't wait to sabotage everyone's teams? If that was an issue then it's ALWAYS been an issue because OC's and DC's can do that too. It simply doesn't make sense to me... except that it seems like ST's were a total afterthought to the design of this game.

Thing is, if the argument is that giving ST coaches access the same as OC's and DC's is a problem... then it's always been a problem because OC's and DC's can screw with all that sh*t anyways. And if you can't trust you coaches then you've got bigger issues than just ST's. I mean... it's a team right? We're supposed to work together as ONE unit for the goal of winning. Why on earth would someone... anyone... OC, DC, or ST coach... sabotage a team unless something terrible and cancerous happened. In that case, owner should remove all access to all coach's until the issue is thoroughly resolved somehow. Just thinkin out loud. Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes. Ain't in my best tonight.

i see the issue, yes everyone on the same page for sure, at a dots young age energy will always be a factor either way.

Truth. Which is why OC, DC, and St coaches really need to communicate on dot usage and pay attention to energy of players after a game. Ignore blowouts because that always skews the hell outa everything. But in good close games there shouldn't be a handful of exhausted players every game. That's when heads need to get together and work it out.
