It would be fantastic to have a search bar to find the forum/thread you would like.

It would be nice if the key word typed in the search bar first brought up threads with the key word in the title and then it would also generate user commits which used the key word searched.

Thoughts?

We had a forum search way back in the day. If I remember correctly it was removed because it was bogging down the system.

Correct... although maybe with the changes to the server and the smaller userbase, maybe it wouldn't be an issue now?

I seem to recall someone figured out a workaround with Google using site-specific searches, but I can't remember the details.

Bummer, I often times remember glimpses of information from threads but rarely where to exactly find them in a quick manor. Anyway, hopefully it can be done since there are a like 500,000 threads.
