It's seriously dumb that OCs can put blocking WRs or TEs out there and the D is blind to them.

Defense has enough tags already, give us a chance for a surprise at least!

Agree.

And with tagging a WR, you can properly setup a proper gameplan to bracket a WR

As much as I hate the amount of extra work that this would be as a D coordinator if you fully tagged sets including WRs, it really does make sense and would make WRs match all the other positions on offense...I mean, if you can tag OLinemen, you really should be able to tag WRs, god help us all.

If this were implemented you would need to seriously buff how wide open receivers catch passes because all this would allow is for the DC to leave the blocking WR unguarded

Do you mean like how the DC can leave the blocking TE unguarded?
Or the blocking FB?
Or the power HB?

IMO Blocking and Power WRs should piss off anyway. It's dumb that they outweigh CBs by 45 pounds and are basically skinny o-linemen. Tagging is just a work around for something that shouldn't exist.

If they must exist, change the defense interface entirely. Allow the defense to assign man coverage to a WR no matter where they go. Like always cover Randy Moss with Darrelle Revis, or Jerry Rice with Deion Sanders. If the offense wants to trot out a blocking WR, the defense should be able to counter with a stump HH LB assigned to them.

It emphasizes the inclusive aspect of the solution by addressing social disparities and taking into account the concerns of excluded communities.

Agreed. And I say this as someone who used to run an all-running team, so I LOVED that nobody could tag my blocking WRs. But yeah, WRs should absolutely be taggable.

I think I'd be okay with this too, but it would sure be trickier to code.
