Is it better to go shortest 5’8 or tallest 6’2?

I’ve always built them as 5’8 but I am not sure how well they do in the upper leagues as I usually reset after season 4/5. I probably should of asked this before my current team as if everyone says tallest I’ll probably reset

imo shortest unless you are going to build JMP into abilitie

Well the 5'8 speed WR's everyone makes are mostly worthless, so I'd suggest 6'0" t 6'2".

But most WR's are worthless so it's not like you have WR's that are more worthless than other WR's because of height.

Height doesn't matter as much, if you're fast enough. Since you've already started and boosting season is over, I'd just shoot for 110 Speed, tack on Track Star VA and 4 Speed AEQs. Ballhawk Safetys will still eat your lunch, but that's your OC's problem. Sometimes, you'll have to be the decoy drawing the double coverage to open up things for other dots.

I use to build speed short and possession types tall. Now I build them ALL tall because you cannot guarantee you'll only be running deep bomb routes all day (where speed can = separation)... which means your 'speed' guy will need to make in-traffic, medium-route-length catches and short is toast there because tall CB's, LB's, and Safeties will be all around you.

Caveat; You can make them short... but they'll need almost 70+ in jump to be effective in non-bomb style routes. If you make them tall, yes it will effect your agility and speed a bit but not enough to matter in the end... and you'll only need about 50 in jump to be just as effective as a short speedster... which means more SP's for stuff like... um... speed and agility! (Oh... and that catching skill too.)

Just noting, height does NOT effect speed. Weight effects speed.

Fastest recent WR in GLB on the speed script was 6'2".

Height does effect speed though. Not straight line speed, but in general. Height effects agility (as does weight) and Agility (or lack thereof) effects speed. The speed script only calculates straight line speed. There are ways to combat weight/height effects, like Quick Cut, so it's not a giant issue. But, yeah... in general taller/fatter = slower/ due to agility loss/bort penalty.

Yes height effects agility. No height doesn't effect straight line speed. Agreed.

Short receivers suck... I remember a WR from way back in the day that was built "boxy" - not the typical cookie cutter build - yet he had the all important ratio of 3:2 on speed / agility and performed great on tape. Look at the build, you'd think meh... look at the results and wow...

I remember my n00b days. Built speed WR's short and tiny and fast as hell. If wide open, great. If any defender was within 5 feet, forgeddaboutit. Couldn't figure it out. Plenty of catching. Plenty of carrying (avoiding KL's)... plenty of speed and agility... more than enough vision... wtf? Started watching replays... "deflected", "deflected", "deflected", "deflected", "deflected", "deflected"...

Been doing a lot better now that I go tall and fat instead.

Overall, there isn't a clear cut answer to whether it's better to go for the shortest 5'8 or the tallest 6'2. It depends on the player's position and playstyle, as well as personal preference. You could try creating both and see which one performs better for you in matches. https://blueygame.com

Fake receivers give the QB an opportunity to play better imo.
