Nope. You'd get retroactive Training Points all the way back to the rollover from Day 40 to Day 41. And since both Day 41 and Day 47 are both still in Season 77, you'll have the Season 77 boosts to use either way as well.

If you wait until Day -8 to build, you'll still get the retroactive Training Points all the way back to the Day 40/41 rollover. But since Day -8 would be in Season 78, you'd miss out on Season 77's boosts. But you'd still be able to reach Level 79 at the end of your build.

Make sense?

TBP clear it works like this;

ON Day 40 you can create a dot(s). It will have 8 days to train until the start of the next season. You can boost before end of current season so the dot will be level 4 at start of next season. Doing it this way gives you 2 mistake cushions... meaning you can miss 2 season's worth of boosts and you'll be given those 'missed boosts' at the end (Plateau).

You can create a dot(s) any day between Day 40 and Day 48 (before the season rolls over into next season) and you will be given whatever training points you missed by not creating ON Day 40. So if you created a dot on, say, Day 44 instead... then you would get 6 training points for the days that have already passed by (41, 42, & 43) to use just as if you had created on Day 40.

I'm not sure Novus is right (see post above) about creating a dot into the next season and getting TP's all the way back to last season but, TBH, I have not done that in... like... forever. Even if you do, your dot will likely be 3 levels behind most dots they face throughout their careers until they hit Plateau because many boost early (the last day of the previous season). There's nothing wrong with this approach but it reduces your 'mistake cushion' down to only ONE season. If you miss 2 season's of boosts for any reason you will not be able to make up the difference when you reach plateau.

Novus is right. If you want to test it, create a dot in preseason day -1 to see for yourself.

I don't mind admitting there's things I'm not totally sure of in this ol' game. I've never built a 'slow build'... I've never built a dot late (after day 48)... and I never had sexual relationships with that girl. So I really didn't know and didn't want to post false info if I could help it.

My only experience with building a dot and NOT boosting before next season was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back in my PeeWee league days and the memories of that are about as fuzzy as fuzzypoopy's brain.

So I created a dot on day 42. What day do I boost him to level 4? Day 47 or day 48?

Day 48. You want to train AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE while you're still Level 1. Maximize your training gains.

I’ve still not spent my skill points, do I have to spend the 15 before I boost to level 4 or can I hold on to them?

Anyone here got that old early build plan from jdbolick? I'm on my phone and can't find it easily.

Oh, y'know what? Go to page 1 of this thread and click on the link in the OP. Scroll down a bit in THAT thread, and Theo posted jd's build plan there. That should answer your SP question.
