Creative route running can produce that result. I’ve seen it most obvious when receivers are slower. I’ve also seen high vision receivers alter routes on passing plays, even with run route tactic is used.

Yeah..... Creative blocking is dumb. There should have been some qualifier in the code... "If pass play, then creative" obviously there isn't.

When blockers meet defenders then match-up skills sets can cause strange reactions. I learned this in ST's where sometimes a blocking skill is low vs a defender's high agility skill. The result can even cause false pancakes. Literally the blocker tries to block the defender... who just (agility) darts out of the way and the blocker falls down. It doesn't register as a pancake (hence the 'false pancake'). If the dot doesn't fall down, it can looks like all sorts of things... such as the OP's replay.
You don't see it much on the O-line vs D-line because there it's blocking vs strength. But when you get those edge match-ups, since Agility is generally much higher than strength on CB's, then you get blocking vs agility... and wonky replays like that.

The Juke happened while the ball was still in the QB's hands.
