Huh... the Slim Jimbos somehow managed to slink their way into Pacific Pro for Season 77.

https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=39

If you're not familiar with these guys, take a look... they use a mostly-empty roster except for a Kick/Punt Returner and 10 dots who are built to do nothing but block on special teams. The rest of their roster is CPU dots. Their goal is to intentionally surrender a metric fuck-ton of TDs to their opponent, which in turn leads to an equally-large metric fuck-ton of kickoffs, which creates extra opportunities for their returner to get lucky and take one to the house. And that's how he stacks up return yards and MVP trophies for his returner, mostly in terrible leagues.

Pretty shitty thing to do, right?

But now he's in Pacific Pro, in a league full of teams that can do something about it.

Question is: do we want to do something about it?

I propose that anyone who has pre-season games with Slim Jimbo should use them to experiment. Let's find ways to slow down our own offense and score fewer TDs, which in turn will rob him of return opportunities. Let's set up our offensive AIs so that we NEVER punt against Slim, to completely eliminate his punt returns. And let's pay more attention to our kickoff teams and make sure we have the best dots in place to stop his returner. Once we figure this stuff out in the pre-season, we exchange notes on what to do, shut him down during the regular season, and make sure he doesn't get the ST MVP this season.

What do you guys say? Are y'all up for it?

Dammit.

Fixed now, although looking at the rest of Pacific Pro, there may not be enough cares in this league to make this work anyway. I dunno, maybe these other rosters will fill back in soon.

well, if you want to punt against a team of shit dots have your punter set hangtime and every one will be a fair catch. Put a C at K for kickoffs and it wont matter either

Yeah, I figured using a non-kicker to do Kickoffs might help, but I wasn't entirely sure how that would play out on the field... a short kick could make things weird for the coverage dots and might accidentally open a hole for the returner. That's why I'd want to run some experiments first, including that.

I mean, it was pretty silly of Darncat to be worried about it Reg Pro 3 with that other Texas A&M team (geez, what the fuck is it with Aggie fans on here, anyway?), but it's a bit more annoying to run into it in Natty Pro. But in Natty Pro, there are more real teams and more cares, which means there's more of a chance to do something about it.

And isn't it fun to watch someone try to game the system and make them fail at it?

But it's only worth trying if other people are up to it to. Otherwise, I guess we can just hand him the ST MVP. *shrug*

It's the same dipshits who stat padded that QB in reg pro. I get it, but isn't going to dictate the outcome of the game against "real teams." It's just their poor attempt to become relevant in the HOF rankings, and they will still fail there.

But to each their own. I get annoyed with teams who constantly boost and reset in rookie leagues for easy golds, while they could easily move over to pee wee leagues for that..but that would make it too difficult for them.

Our Rookie season, we beat one of those resetting-Rookie teams in the playoffs in the semi-finals, and then beat another one in the finals to take the gold for ourselves. Man, that was fun, leaving both of those teams empty-handed.

Eh, I guess the pitchfork mob march is cancelled due to lack of interest.

I, for one, welcome our new Aggie overords.

We boosted from Level 15 to Level 18 on Day 32, just in time for the playoffs. Boosting at that point has a miniscule effect on the end of your build. When I returned to GLB in Season 69, I was surprised to see so many people had stopped boosting from 15 to 18 and were now waiting until Day 40 to boost.
