After 2002, the Raiders would never have another winning season under his ownership, suffering consecutive losing seasons from 2003 to 2010—the longest drought in franchise history. This included double-digit loss record seasons in seven consecutive years from 2003 to 2009. The team cycled through multiple head coaches. Their 2007 first overall draft pick, quarterback JaMarcus Russell, was called "the biggest draft flop in NFL history" by FoxSports.com. Davis was largely blamed, and his motto of "Just win, baby!" was mocked by many. Russell was released by the Raiders in May 2010 and never played another down in the NFL.

Yeah... he suffered from a bad case of 'the sands of time'. Was a time when he didn't meddle so much in his team's day to day operations but when he started getting really old, he started really messing with everything in a desperate attempt to win one more Superbowl before he left. Sadly, didn't happen. He made things worse rather than better. But... before that happened, even the Cowboys feared the Raiders for many years. Pittsburgh didn't fear them but damn sure respected them. Many a good war back in those days. Now it's even worse as the Raiders simply abandoned Oakland... this time for good.

FACTS. IM A DIE HARD RAIDER FAN.
Davis couldnt mind his own business and let his staff do their jobs. This affected everyone in the orginization for many years and we still havent recovered. Then we hire Coach Gruden to turn this thing around and he trades our best damn player. I dont get the thinking in that camp

I use to be. Grew up with Blanda and stayed with them through thick and thin... until they moved out of Oakland. The first time they did it I got pissed... but they came back and I was happy again. Then they did it again... and I got pissed again... and they came back again... and I was happy again. Third time is the last time for me. I'm done with them. Sure, they've done other stupid stuff as well but nearly every team does stupid. Stupid GM's... stupid trades... stupid drafts... stupid coaches... I can live with stupid as long as it's not an every single season kinda thing. Now the bay area has nothing left but the 40-whiners. Maybe someday Oakland will get redemption... the Raiders won't with me.
