Juarez owner checking in - thanks for the welcome.

I don't disagree with any of the projections - this will be very difficult for us and we are outclassed by a number of teams - however, we have made a lot of good signings since the original post though.

We deserved the promotion so we may as well enjoy a season in Pro - even if we go straight back down again.

My aim will be to upset a couple of teams with surprise wins, nothing more. We managed it twice last year against better opposition with some mad comebacks...

GG Chile.

There we go - week one is in the books and low and behold we had three games that were within two scores but we did have our usual blowouts. Sort of expected but when writing these close games make for easy writing. As with most weekends I'll be out of the loop but instead of not doing anything I'll make the week three predictions to lengthen the write-up.

GAME OF THE WEEK
The Canucks only won five games last season so starting fast is important. They took the bull by the horns to take down the San Dimas Saints 17-14. The Saints scored first but LG was able to knot things up at seven at the break. LG scored last although it was with 26 seconds left in the third quarter on a 42.5 yard TD run by Lasha Darkmoon. Turnovers nearly doomed the Canucks as they had five but a stiff D only gave up 167 yards to the rookie Saints to help secure a hard fought W.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TE Dan Fishbone, LG Canucks. The TE caught only two balls but the dot reached over the 100 yard barrier (106.5) with a TD. The TE made a great catch and run breaking three tackles in the second quarter to tie the game up on a 83 yard TD.

WEEKLY PREDICTIONS
Last Week: 4-2
Overall: 4-2

Chile Chupacabras @ Alabama Yellowhammers - Both teams have something to prove in week two after losing by a combined 160 points. The Chupacabras is an issue for them and I believe 'Bama will make some adjustments and get some scores late to pull away...31-17.

Running Gag @ LG Canucks - Gag took out the gates running and while LG got an opening W there are not many teams on the same playing field as Gag. Look for Gag to score early and often in this one...56-0.

Not Fast, Just Furious @ San Dimas Saints - The Saints took one on the chin and this one is pretty obvious as it's the run vs. the pass. The strong arm of the law will rule the day as JF is fast enough...34-10.

Magua's Revenge @ Vancouver Gorillas - Revenge flexed some early muscle in beating the champs and they'll continue to shred their opponents as the Gorillas are a small speed bump in their destructive path...38-13.

Sofia Spiders @ Charlestown Chiefs - I have my convincing the Spiders will start off slow once again before deciding it's time to play. I got the Chiefs man handling them in this one for some strange reason....31-13.

Juarez Jalapeņos @ Las Vegas Chaos - Chaos arrived with a W while Juarez put up a solid fight. This one has low scoring all over it with Las Vegas shining a bit more brightly than their rookie cohort...17-6.

WEEK 3 EARLY PICKS
Alabama Yellowhammers @ Not Fast, Just Furious - I'll roll (get it "roll Tide") with my boys here...34-20.
San Dimas Saints @ Running Gag - Gag know all about shutting the run down...50-0.
LG Canucks @ Chile Chupacabras - LG has shut one rushing team down and they'll do it again...24-20.
Vancouver Gorillas @ Juarez Jalapeņos - Gorillas wake up and shut down the Jalapeņos...27-0.
Charlestown Chiefs @ Magua's Revenge - Revenge make short work of a brutal early schedule...27-23.
Las Vegas Chao @ Sofia Spiders - Chao's gets a taste of the league elite and they won't like it...34-0.

POWER FIVE
1. Running Gag - back to the top as they dismantled the Yellowjackets 91-0.
2. Magua's Revenge - is it really revenge beating Sofia in the regular season...still a W over a top team by double digits.
3. Not Fast, Just Furious - not the same Chile team from last season in winning by 69.
4. Charlestown Chiefs - won by 36 but I expected a more dominate performance to kick the season off.
5. Sofia Spiders - yep, a loss but still the defending champs who played a tough opponent.

As always - keep fighting and good luck.
