The best one I have is Thr - 108, Vis - 102 Str 92 Agi 83.

Does he need VA's?

Without the Agi he could also get higher but I don't think he would play that well.

I'm guessing you mean natural numbers only? In which case, no. Besides. I wouldn't want that Qb anyways. The more I build them, the more I'm believing Strength is overrated and that Confidence is underrated. I don't know if possible but I'd like to build a;

Throwing 105
Vision 99-100
Confidence 99-100
Strength 88-90
Agility 85 (+?)
Speed 50

We'll see how my latest attempt works.

I've always felt that.

How confident are you?

Incidentally, a lot of people may not remember that STR indirectly affects pass quality on all passes by increasing pass distance as per Bort. By extending the QBs max distance it makes short passes higher quality.

Imo the formula for passing QBs is THR>VIS>STR>CON>Agi=Sta=Spd=Car

If you look at the whole picture of that post instead of just the 'bad throws' as the viable result then Confidence was bigger than even Catch gave it credit. Note;

Bad throw %;
100 Confidence --- 9.18%
75 Confidence --- 10.85%
50 Confidence --- 11.11%

Not much difference but then that makes sense if all those QB's had the same amount of Throwing, Vision, Agility, and Strength. Throwing is the primary skill in determining the accuracy of a pass. Confidence simply protects against outside forces altering that accuracy. Since he doesn't provide that (the rest of the skill numbers) as well then just relying on Confidence to determine stats is wrong. Also consider that should you assume all other skill numbers were the same then these results ALSO make Confidence more important than stated;

Times Hurried %;
100 Confidence --- 15.82%
75 Confidence --- 18.01%
50 Confidence --- 23.69%

That's a decent jump in %'s and Confidence is what >allows< a QB to feel pressured as opposed to being actually pressured. Lower Confidence causes more 'hurries' because the QB feels it more. And the % of bad throws caused by Hurries also increased with the lower confidence. Not by huge chunks but it makes sense. Again, IF all the other skills are the exact same then the % differences should be small since the accuracy of passes isn't part of what Confidence adds... Confidence is what helps from defenses >detracting< from accuracy. If your Qb is never hurried that the % of bad throws would be totally based on other skills, not Confidence.
Lastly, Confidence also shields your QB from certain SA's that were not a part of the test (AOI, The Glare, and Trash Talk). 2 of those SA's are personal attacks on a QB's confidence... that cannot be a coincidence. And high Confidence also helps certain SA's (like Field General) which, in turn, help with the passing game as well as other things.

In the end, I'm not saying Catch's tests are worthless... just not completely accurate. All that said the only thing I'd change with your Formula would be to make Confidence equal to Strength.

Yep, pretty nice build.
The dot, too.

I can't imagine that QB doing poorly if it's in a good line with quality receivers.

Thanks jpjn. BTW, was 70 what you were aiming for or was it just where you ended up? Also do you think more Confidence would've helped Field General more, resulting in ever better numbers (completion %, less drops, less bad throws)?

68 was my target. I opened up my notes on the player which shows a rough build plan so you can see.

It’s possible that would have helped, but honestly I don’t remember what team this dot played for so there could have been other issues with the stats. However, there are a lot of VAs to help out confidence.

Confidence also plays into if the qb will throw. Higher means he might take a shot when coverage is tight instead of moving through the check downs. Also, you can get away with very low vision, pass completions percentage will stay about the same, but more interceptions result. If you want to pass, the most important thing is blocking. Keep the defense far from the qb and the pass quality doesn’t take as many hits. Of course, you need a decent pass quality score to start with, but that doesn’t really require a throw skill over 105. Here dug this up http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4380373

Eh... I think it doesn't effect the 'catch' per se` but it DOES effect the ability to MAKE the catch (I.E. Avoid those KL's).
