I'm not too sure.
It's hard for me to keep up with everyone else.

Rule of Thumb.

You also have to consider play counts, and if that position is getting directly attacked.

WR4, no so much. RDE, better go harder.

And position. QB's, Kickers, even Punters need plenty of Confidence to be effective (IMO). And 2-way STOPS who see a LOAD of ST plays need more than 60 stamina for sure.

Oh TJ agrees with you there. Look at my Kicker and you’ll see what his build plan produces.

in a competitive league, 60 is fine for stops. IF necessary they have the stamina VA for ST plays. i some times even have some stops go with the 50s. just depends on how their build plan plays out.

I was thinking 2-way Stops (not done that much anymore) where the dot plays on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ST's. Most build a one-side style with blocking or tackling as the only skill they address. For those STOPS, would you feel safe with a 60 only Stamina? (serious question, not snark). I had a STOP center get 70 plays recently... totally 'zhausted.

i would think a true 2 way STOP would use the VA for stamina. at least they did when i was active at that level

All this got me thinking about all the info gathered over the years so I hit my notes and came up with this;

On the issue of Stamina, there is no disagreement about it's need and purpose. That said, it really depends on what your dot does. A throwing QB on a 2 throwing QB team doesn't really need more than around 55 (IMO). It will get rotated plenty and doesn't ever see any ST play except for placeholder. However an O-lineman, even with a quality backup, will need much more due to all the pounding it gets on every play... especially since many serve double-duty on ST's as well. I would recommend at least a 65 there and would shoot for 70 if possible. A Kicker likely can get by with 50.. maybe even 48 (1st cap) as it only sees the field on XP's and kickoffs. In a hard fought defensive game, he'll likely not see much action and be ready to go when called on. If you're winning 187-3 it kinda doesn't matter if he's tired (at least to the team's victory chances).

On the issue of Confidence it's been argued to death about it's effects and it's need. There are plenty of threads made about 40 being the only number needed (for OTK)... and plenty more about how important it is for every position and not just the usual suspects. Here's the rub... unlike Stamina where you can easily SEE the effects... I mean there's stamina bars and 'exhaustion' graphics on replays and you can actually SEE an exhausted dot's lack of mobility and skill... but with Confidence it's MUCH harder to assess it's overall effect. I can say with certainty that a Kicker without it will miss much more often than one with plenty of it... and that a QB's ability to throw good passes under pressure is MUCH better with plenty of Confidence than with just a minimum (40). And it's pretty well pushed throughout the better teams to grab those Morale damaging VA's and SA's (as well as those that protect against it) which is directly linked to Confidence. But just exactly HOW much and HOW effective it is (if you have a lot of confidence) vs HOW little (you can get away with) and HOW ineffective it is is really unknown. At least not in ways you can quantify easily.

Personally, I've done both all my time here and really can't tell you anything solid about going with the minimum (40) where you can (non-Confidence important dots)... or that dots I built with a much higher confidence (80 at least) did so much better. If I had to guess I would say this. If the build makes Confidence a PRIMARY skill then there's likely a damn good reason and you should pursue a higher #. If it's a SECONDARY skill then I'd probably want 50+ (a guess). If it's not a main skill at all then, perhaps, 40 is all you'll ever need. That's about all I got on the subject.

TBH, this could be true but I'd say it's even more important for PHB's as they get a lot of pounding and much more abuse in the game (meaning used more).
