To be fair, that was there way before archetypes were invented, and bonus SAs were a thing. Without any kind of ALG in Carry, that was the only way to make a CB return man. After archetypes and everyone having access to it, that need for that SA became obsolete. It probably should have been taken away from the CB tree then and put into the bonus SA section alone.

A bit different from LB SAs being terrible since the game started

no it's literally the same. If you happen to land a big hit on a QB who is behind the LoS, it's a Big Sack

I'll dig up the replay if I can, but it's season 51 so....

Just this second saw the same thing happen:
http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=2962257&pbp_id=640474

its our SS on the sack, who definitely has no "Big Sack" SA, but has some in Big Hit
as in the replay you shared, it happens when the QB has become a runner.
I'm guessing that is why, and had the QB's 'pass mode' been still active,
he couldn't have made that big sack, only because he was a runner.
I wish i could find the post where i saw this; it wasn't that long ago.

In any event, there shouldn't be separate "Big Sack" imo
a big hit is a big hit is a big hit
it'd seem to make much more sense if you just had BG and MH
and if you hit the QB with it, it'd be a BH sack or a MH sack

now if i get to be picky, i'd like to see big hit knocked loose as well
sigh, that'd be nice
