Yeah. No matter what the things they can't change will be the issue. Takes more than just a sparky QB and a few pieces of bling to overcome more than a decade of losing. That causes a culture that clings to the bones. I expect a winning season and some nice games. Maybe, depending on everyone else in the AFC, a Wildcard spot. Beyond that are dreams.

It's weird how much Gettleman hates the Giants.

I tell you what, he made moves down in Carolina that made the fans mad, made management even madder. But dude took a shaky mess of contract hell and took the Panthers to the big game.

He's able to field good teams, and finds ways to work magic for the cap space.

Get past the fact that he's an asshole, and he'll find ways to impress you with the team you end up with. When he cut smitty from the team everyone wanted his head - but it only made us stronger. The fact that the team fired him for wanting to cut Thomas Davis...

I mean, I get that Carolina had always been a franchise that was different - but it was TD's time then, and he's not been the same since.

Also, a 1st, a 3rd, AND FUCKING JABRILL PEPPERS... that's legit as fuck imo.

Not quite sure I agree with that assessment.
Hurney was fired mid 2012.
2013, Carolina was 12-4. What was the miracle Gettleman pulled off in under a year?
Smith was cut Off season of 2014. Carolina stumbled into the playoffs with a losing record, because everyone else in that division happened to suck worse then them.
2015 they recovered, and went 15-1. And that's your big game. Then Gettleman cut another another super star (Norman) in off-season of 2016, and they go 6-10. Then he wanted to cut Greg Olsen as well as Davis in 2017, but the owner stepped in, and cut Gettleman instead. Carolina went 11-5.

I would argue that Carolina was good in spite of Gettleman, not because of him.

Not Super Bowl probably but they own the North.

This season, teams will figure out Jackson and the Baltimore D is no more.

The Steelers are in shambles, and Tomlin is a candidate to be gone by mid season, if he lasts that long.

Red Dalton and a new coaching staff doesn't seem to be a recipe for success, plus the Bengals are the Bengals. Mediocre don't cut it in the AFC. There's easily 5 teams that can win 10+ games.

SD. KC. NE. Indy. Texans. Then there's a few true wild cards. Jacksonville with Foles? Titans? Buffalo/Denver if they fix the o-line line?

Miami is a circus. Jets are a couple seasons out at best with a new staff an scheme changes. Who the F knows what the Raiders will do.

You've only got 3 or 4 teams with no legit shot at the post season.

Norman walked for more money because our lingering cap problems caused us not to be able to chase his desired money iirc.

The Greg thing I never heard even one lick of, wasn't a contract year and we'd have been better off trading if we were to part with Olsen back then - Davis was the key player that he got fired over trying to cut.

Dirt cheap price to pay for one of the best WRs in the league. Recent moves wouldn't surprise to see them make the AFC championship game pretty easily. Not much competition otherwise except New England and KC. Maybe Indy. Everyone else just keeps making stupid personnel decisions.

I personally think any team in the AFC West could make the AFC championship game...besides the Broncos.

Steelers should still be the team to beat in the North. Maybe without the distractions, they'll play better.

Couldn't make it through... like watching fox news. There's way more than 4 things that matter, (check that 13-3 game a couple months ago). chemistry? hunger? it's the great thing about having a show where everyone agrees with everything you say. no rebuttals or fact checking. not going to even get into the debate about whatever nonsense he was actually talking about. bad premise is bad. gigo

the only thing of merit was the under dog thing... it worked for Philly. Not sure Steelers even realize they are underdogs though.
