Every once in a while, when I'm shopping for AEQ gear, out of the blue... along comes this piece that is WAY past the most insane thing you could imagine for the dot you're shopping for. Today I got a "Dive For Yardage" piece with a +1 to Throwing skill....

.... for a Zone SS.

WHAT? I mean, is there some hidden secret thing about this piece that, had I been nuckin futz enough to actually buy it... build it... and equip it... would my SS suddenly DIVE across the field to make a tackle? THROWING the dot to the ground to cause a fumble because the dot sh*t himself after something that insane? Would my SS suddenly make amazing DIVING catches then throw the ball back to the QB so we could tackle him for a sack??? What other incredible, amazing, stupendous things might I just have throw away by not choosing the AEQ piece??? I should be flogged. Oh the shame.

Seriously. That's just whack.

Rolling for AEQ is like playing the lottery... you usually lose, and you only occasionally win. Rolling a piece like that for a SS is the equivalent of buying a lotto ticket and matching 0 numbers. That doesn't mean the lotto machine is broken... it just means you had bad luck. Buy another ticket and try again.

Usually the pieces matchup to the position in some way. Like getting a 'Break Block' piece for an O-lineman. Sounds wrong but since you can make STOP O-lineman then it's actually a good piece... for a STOP. Or getting a Hold Block piece for an O-lineman... but with +1 Catching... at least the HB makes sense.
But Throwing... and Dive For Yards... for a SS of ANY stripe is like... I mean... sh*t man. I've never seen anything that whack before.
Also, strange but true... you'll never see a +# of any kind with the skill 'Punting' or 'Kicking' behind it. I've never seen one for sure. Kinda makes shopping for Kickers and Punters almost worthless.

You mean to tell me you never use your SS as a running back??

It just seems random
I mean, it definitely 'knows' what position the player is
for example a QB will get more PQ% pieces than a RB who will get more BT% than a DB-
but still for every piece you roll that could possibly be useful for that position you will roll a few that aren't

What gets me is when i see that +5% HB i need for my O-lineman- with a +3 tackling
oh well, time to roll again

Next time, take the Tackling. You'll be thankful when on ST's or after your HB fumbles.
