So got 2 queries to throw out there for some input.

Dot A.) is a FS. Has following AEQ; Avoid Fake, Make Tackle, and Int%. What would be your 4th Piece?

Dot B.) is a Punter that can actually play ST's and make tackles. So I'm thinking 2 MT pieces of AEQ... what else should I be thinking?

Thanks in advance.

A. If the FS is built for INTs, which I'm assuming is why INT%, then stack INT%. If the 1st INT% was just something cheap in the store that popped up, then Def%.

B. That's weird. The usual for a Punter is to just buy SAs with BTs, like 2X Big Boot or whatever. I would say if it's a Boomer P then he should be rocking close to 100 strength, which should be enough to deck a PR. You might want to do Anti-fake for Juke avoidance. If he's a Tech Punter, the maybe MT% is best. If you've invested in Jumping, then maybe Diving Tackle would be worth a shot if you want to save some BTs.

1) make tackle since it’s a running sim after all, if not, intercept

2) who cares, it’s a punter

I tried something with the last punter I built that worked decently... I'm trying to improve on that. By borrowing a little from Strength (finishing in the 90's) and Punting (finishing right at 100) I can push speed to around 80 (equal to agility) and tackling to around 50-70 (last one had 63). It will never be confused as a HH LB but it still works well. Last one had 2 MT pieces (because of low tackling) CEQ was also MT. I don't think I got the 3rd AEQ for it last time. Also grabbed DvG VA to go with his Punting stuff.

The thinking is this; Sure, my last punter was around 5-10 yards less (per average punt) than the others in the league... but she led in Coffin Corner punts and punts inside the 20. When I was doing ST's for a while, I noted that most punts happen between the 40's (both sides of the field)... so being able to hammer 80 yard punts only comes into play once in a blue moon. Also, a lot of those super long punts had decent returns against them because of out-kicking the coverage by so much. If your punter can coffin corner a 50-60 yarder on a regular basis then you've likely got a MVP punter even if it can't kick it 80 yards. So I figured why not take a little off the super-sized side (less strength for sure and maybe not 107 natural punting either), work on some of the aiming skills (vision and agility), add in some speed and whatever tackling you can do and maybe have a punter that can actually play on ST's instead of being a 'foot only'?
My last punter had 13 tackles in her career so it wasn't the worst idea ever. She might've had more if the ST coach would've used her on Kickoffs (I was thinking IN2 or IN3?). So my thoughts for a 3rd AEQ piece were along the lines of a FF% piece? Trouble is, with less than 70 tackling, is that a waste of time??? That is what I don't know.

As for the FS, thanks guys. Pretty much confirms my own thoughts. It's a Combo arch that's primarily a pass defender/int build. I just don't want it to be utterly worthless against the run or if needed to tackle a receiver after a catch.

ff would be a waste imo. i've seen stops try to make ff players with 90 str/70s tack and they never got any ff.

i have 2 punters that i'm building with a similar line of thinking. a 70 yard punt is almost always no better than a 50 yard net, even with 170 speed gunners. so there's no reason to try to build a punter to do that. i'm aiming for the cc/hang time approach. my reasonong is that if i'm relying on a punter for tackles, then i've already failed as the stc. my goal is too lead the league in net punting even if that isnt a stat in glb. i had some gunners a few seasons ago that coul force fair catches into the 50s, so thats my target net.

I hear you. What kinda got this started is something I've had in mind for a LONG time which is finding a way to get more out of a total lineup. Some examples would be a EHB who has enough catching to be used on screens and super short passes. A Power Rusher style QB that can still throw screens and short routes. Blocking FB's that can still run the ball (power style) now and then. And Punters that can play on ST's more than just as a punter. That would save stamina for some dots and even might free up an extra roster slot for something needed.
When I looked at certain dots I was using in some positions (IN2 or IN3) on kickoffs, the build of a Punter wasn't really all >that< far off. High strength, some speed and agility, and just enough vision. I know it'll never be a gunner or some outlandish ideal STOP but I also know not every dot on ST's is a perfectly built ST style dot. Many times we use the best of the bench dots to fill in gaps with some quality. I think a Punter can do that.
I agree it should never be considered as 'the premier tackler'... just not so useless as most punters are that stand there and wave at the returner as he goes by. If he only makes 5 tackles his whole career, they likely would be ones where if he didn't, it'd be TD city. That's 5 saved TD's. Good enough for me. If he can decently soak up a ST roster slot as well, awesome! But he's gotta nail those punts when needed and pin 'em deep often.
Of course he's gotta do the punting well enough as you posted

I wonder what the OOPP is from P to QB lol
I was thinking a Lou "the Toe" or Johnny Hekker type punter/QB. Maybe for GLB purposes a PrQB...
It would have one benefit, that the player couldn't be tagged (this could conceivably be a pain in the ass for defenses)
so long as the OOPP didn't make him useless, which it probably would. Since DBs are so slow at QB, i daresay
a punter would be worse- but maybe the OOPP isn't that bad for it- realistically I'd say it should be a lot less than a DB's...
in any event, it'd be fun to see someone try it lol

oh my goodness, this. A Safety without double-stacked mt% is going to be in serious trouble.
