to be eligible to get mvp or the mvp eq, you have to be in the conference on day 40. i've seen many players screwed by this over the years.
http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4720374 played 1 game all season in wk 16, and yet walked away with the mvp eq. and it's nice eq. even funnier is that a stop also won mvp eq but was eligible in both k/p and st categories, so I don't know which category each player won. you'll notice below, the eq winner isnt listed on either mvp list.

Easy chum. I knew what I was getting into, haven't posted in years and it was an easy way to get back into it. But I'm not bitching about what I didn't win.

show me where i bitched about my players not getting it. it's supposed to be awarded to someone in the top 5, and wasnt awarded by that rule. mvp eq at this level is fairly meaningless.

so did we. they just sucked. but this ws nt about my players not winning, it was about an obvious bug where a player won that wasnt even eligible. i would have made this post about any conference where i had seen it. once a bug mod, you never completely give it up....lol

Wait, he only played one game and he got the MVP?
That shouldn't happen at all. It seems like the MVP algorithm must divide all the 'productivity points'
by the number of games a player has played, which makes no sense as they all should have played 16...
either that or it counted his stats from whatever league he was in beforehand

Now that i think of it, how did he only play one game? what about the trade deadline?

very inactive human signed with a team prior to week 16, went back inactive and cpu team cut him b4 the week 18 game. he participated on exactly 1 st play where he left the LOS, the rest being LS for kicks, and 1 other punt that was a touchback. this has been a long time complaint of mine that players with zero st stats some times win ST mvp. usually those that win for no reason are at least listed on the mvp list, but this guy wasnt even on the mvp list. this issue is why i stopped making returners and stops years ago. there's zero correlation between on field performance and the mvp list for ST, unless you rack up a ton of TDs or KO yards.

Guppy, not to demean your argument, but do you have any examples of this happening in a full league?

makaw sarcastically made mention of it, and while it is ridiculous that this dot received this MVP EQ, exactly who is the victim in this and exactly how much did it cost them? If this happened in World league or even one of the pro leagues, its a much bigger deal as the EQ can be very useful. However, at these lower levels, it is pretty much just a simple +1 attribute.

people are trying to read way more into this than was meant. the mvp eq is supposed to be awarded to a player in the top 5 for that category. and it not only was awarded to someone not in the top 5, but to someone not even listed at all. this is NOT about whether they deserve to be in the top 5.

all the leagues use the same formula, so if it happens in one league, it can happen in any.

i got burned in season 70 for a casual pro k/p mvp because the team somehow had their dc reset, (which by the way is happening way too often, so watch your DCs), so my kicker got allocated to play a rQB. he fumbled that game, and plummeted from 1st to 9th even tho he lead the conference in FGs by a large margin. so it's obvious that the fumble was a huge weight in the mvp formula. so had it never happened b4, or was it just never noticed. that was in casual pro which is arguably supposed to be the 2nd highest league in the game. pretty obvious that this was leftover from when k/p was split off from st. theoretically, a kicker should never have the opportunity to fumble, except that kicker is the default fill-in if no qb is on the dc. so a fumble or int can kill a mvp season for something the player cannot even control.

edit: yeah, the eq is pretty meaningless. it's not about getting the eq

well there are 2 different issues now

issue 1 is if an unqualified dot can get the MVP EQ. In an empty league I suspect there could be a glitch due to limited options. I would think there at least had to be a blocker or something in that league oat the end of day 40 to be more deserving.

issue 2 is if negative non ST plays affect a dots status. they shouldn't. but your example seems to.

in either case, management is all but gone and doubt they will make any fixes at this point. I am just thankful I can still play as I do still enjoy the game.

well the kicker thing is an error in the formula which we know isnt going to change. it was just an example of why people should still post weird things that happn b4 its happens in a higher league.
