For some time I've either been with teams that do this (on offensive dots)... or been told to build using this SA (on offensive dots); Aura Of Intimidation. Well... uh... was chasing down some info about a different SA and stumbled across this from a 2008 Bort Q&A session;

Dude... I did it too. As well as so many other teams I've been with. I'll even bet there's several WL teams with a huge chunk of their offensive dots with it.

EDIT well if i do build anymore dots for o-line i am going back to speed and first step those dots were more fun to watch anyways.

One thing makes me wonder though, why do D-line dots loose morals so quickly against aura built O-lines?

I agree with Bluesman, speed and FS built dots are pretty fun.

I would have to say it is more pummel if this is true but watch now you will see o-line with pummel and showboat blocker

Pummel and showboat would seem to be a better combination imo as both are individual bonuses - Even if Aura does work the area where it works may not be the PoA

Im not sold on Aura but in reality idk if or how it works etc - But Cut block Get Low and Pummel are all pretty good in their own right and would probably be more effective later in games as showboat starts to weaken the DL

I think it's two fold. #1 are things like Pummel (used a lot on the offense) and other SA's and VA's that are morale destroying. I haven't tried to look and count but I think if you count up all the morale effecting SA's and VA's for each side (offense vs defense)... that there would be more on offense. #2, I also think that the penalties (morale) to either side when certain events happen end up effecting the defense much more than the offense since the game is tilted towards the offense anyways so more good things happen on their side over the course of an entire game.

Just my thoughts.

It works on offense.

Description of Aura SA:
Aura of Intimidation - Hard Hitter tree for LB
This defender is so mean, every opposing player near him is intimidated. The Aura of Intimidation will reduce the morale of opposing players within a certain radius of the player.

This skill will put fear in your opponents hearts, making it easier to tackle or avoid them.

Additional Levels:
Increases the radius of effect, and the strength of the morale penalty.

my question is how do you find things from 2008 on this forum?
i can't find things from yesterday on here half the time


one of the few things though i do remember though is that bort updated the SA descriptions a while back-
the ones that are position or side-of-the-ball dependent now are pretty clear on that in the descriptions
