Im going to build a downhill LB and im leaning towards the hard hitter archetype. I dont want my LB to be completely useless in coverage as I want him to be on the field in all situation. What stats should I shoot for?

What's a Downhill LB? What skills do they do?

Almost sounds like your building a coverage LB.

I downhill LBs are essentially The Jeremiah Trotters of the world. Run Stuffers who hit hard and can blitz when asked

Trotters in ramen stock I know about, but not the Jeremia's. I know not much about the actual sport IRL, but who needs that to build dots?

HHLB with blitz...? How strong, how fast? How agile? Can they tackle well? Vision?

If you want to make your LB more "attacky", reaction time is the key to playing in the back field. It doesn't happen a lot in GLB.

An LB would need high Vision to read the play. 1st Step as the bonus SA to make that jump off the ball. Tackle radius is under rated IMO. I've seen a few dots with 100+ Tackling and they're fun to watch on run plays.

The issue is how blocking is coded in GLB. The blockers will grab onto anything and everything that comes into their radius, so you'll never see a defender come free into the backfield.

Here's a well designed play for low level defenders. The MLB will be your "down hill" type.

The MLB is placed far enough back that the o-line can't get to him. There are enough defensive dots to absorb the outside blocking. The MLB has a clean-ish path to come up and snuff the play, even though it goes for about 2 yards. That's really about as good as you can hope for.

If the MLB gets there too fast, a blocker will grab him and F up the whole play. Like this one

The archetype doesn't matter a whole lot. If you want to do Tackling and Speed first, then do a Blitzer. If you want to do Vision and Tackling first, then do a HH. Weight is a huge component of the tackling roll, so don't do build some 240 pound weenie. 260+ IMO.

I wanted to try something new and plan on using aura and intimidation sa and va's to pressure QBs. I'm somewhat happy with the build, but you need to find a DC that would use him in the same capacity as you've envisioned
