Soooooo...it appears this game is still alive.......I've been away for like 7 years and the name of it just popped in my head, so I had to see if it was still alive....whats the state of the game like?

I am sure it gives it a bump, no doubt. But I think it is a bonus to Throwing, not sure if Throwing = Pass quality. If Throwing was all that was needed then the Pass quality SA's and EQ wouldn't be necessary, and they are. IMHO.

my QB seems to actually throw better on the run, even without any SAs yet
it might have something to do with having higher agility than throwing

i sometimes wonder if ppl overdo throwing att... as you state, pass quality is more than throwing-
the strength, agility, the SAs and EQ, vision to some extent too i'm guessing- all that goes into the pass q%
so i'm wondering instead of taking passing way up over 160 sometimes, if a QB wouldn't be better served
investing some of that into other corollary stats for improved PQ%...

Level matters. Bort gave qb a bonus long ago to make their passing functional, it gets smaller as qb ages.Originally posted by darncat

Haven't really noticed the effect of that at all with this QB to be honest...
with other QBs i've made, it was obvious, as the first 3 or 4 seasons they had basically 158.3 ratings-
and then that stopped, real quick

Still, I can't say the young QB buff was necessarily the reason for that either:
it was more likely that was due to competition that greatly increased as we advanced in the leagues
(for that was back in the overpopulated GLB days) and i say that because my current QB has never had stats that were
all that exceptional throwin the ball even though her build is much more focused on passing than any others i've done
and it seems clear that this is due to the quality coaching of just about every team we face in the smaller sized leagues.
So while i theoretically know the young QB passing buff disappears, I can't say I've ever really been able to tell much difference-
I'd assume this is because the drop off is gradual, and all the while the QB is improving so it might balance out the buff's loss.

The reason i say her throwing may actually be better on the run is that when she gets a nice 5 yard run up
in the pocket when throwing the ball, she can deliver a very nice 30 yard pass, really as nice as our pQB does
but when she can't step up in the pocket (and i mean waaay up) those 30 yard passes (sometimes 15 yd) are not too good...
not too good at all. Teams in our age range, i know you must've noticed the same thing playing against us.
Now, obviously, running away from the target is going to have a MUCH different effect on the throw-
still, no matter how much she runs, it doesn't seem to hurt her passes at all- problem is if she gets hurried, man
she will throw some butt ugly passes. Now i'm not of the belief that tons of on the run SA or anything will
make passes on the run better than standing still, but i definitely believe stepping up when throwing can help,
especially when you are talking about a QB who doesn't quite have the arm strength, and i do think agility
(and OTR SA as well i'd guess) can help a QB who does a lot of that. Of course, the aim is to get that strength
by level 79 to where the QB doesn't always need a running start to make long throws, but IDK if i'll get there.
It seems by WL a QB should have at least 85 speed while she will be stuck at 80. I'll get the WW VA i guess,
try to make it as close as i can... I feel i could have gotten those extra few strength points had this not been the
first time i've played in 4 years. Experience definitely counts for a lot and i know a few little things i definitely could
have done better in the early build process. I still think the plan will get a good quality EL and then its up to me as coach
to make it work. This season has been a rough one so far but I expect us to go undefeated in the OOC schedule,
so all is not lost and we may have another shot at making something from this season yet. Finally also we are
getting through the AEQ a taste of the SAs that so many of our players are built to use yet have never had.
I don't know if we'll really be able to ascertain how everything will work until the players are finished and then we shall see.
Again, its basically a first as far as that goes for much of my team, but i'm proud of the way we've been able to at least
mostly overcome a relative lack of experience from our head coach (me) and a couple other of our really dedicated guys

However, i guess i've totally digressed. My blocking WR is too young for semi-pro, and also Tif needs her.
If you do another team with younger players along the same lines, i have a hands TE who i actually think
could be a better blockish receiver if that's something you'd be open to trying

Less players and teams now, but the same amount of quality- now concentrated.
Most of the teams are really run well and most agents making good players... i guess the more serious players
are the ones who stayed and the bandwagon jumpers mostly the ones who left lol

I wish that I had one to give. I love to make very fast WRs.
