We were cap building back then, but I'm not sure it was an exact science like it is now. And I don't remember multi-training, but that doesn't necessarily mean it didn't exist. It was a long time ago, and I have further developed my scotch habit in the intervening years.

It seems as though the "when to boost" guidelines are pretty much the same. I'll keep digging.

Multi-training definitely changed the game, and as people refined cap-building, some boosting tricks became clear over time as well. I still have some leftover build-plans from the last run of the Palookas, and dot-building had become pretty stabilized by that point, so they should still hold up.

Since you got those free player spots, you might want to consider using this season
to reacquaint yourself with the player building and get the hang of multi-train, then at season's end
you can restart those players at the right time and you will already do better the second time.
i know that after my first season back there were a coupe things i already knew i'd do differently
part of me wanted to restart, but they were relatively small things, and i'd already started my team-
so it might turn out to be advantageous to have a 'practice run'

Also i didn't realize you can get a 4th free slot, too- until i decided to add some flex to make sure i had enough
for the team ownership throughout the career. Even for the 2.50$ purchase i think unlocks the 4th free spot for life
i wish i'd known before cuz now my 4th player won't catch up to my team until plateau

You are correct... I did a $2.50 top-off purchase, and boom: Premium Status, baybee!!!

If i could go back in time, i'd have gotten that status right away so my free player would be at the same age
also, i'd have not bought multi-train for my second att. i'd have kept it in the free spot at the top of the chain
so as to not have to buy another M-T slot when i dropped my 2nd att from multi-train
